9 years ago today I gave birth to my most special little man. My DS has taught me more about patience, kindness and unconditional love in the last 9 years than I learned in the previous 33. We have been on this crazy autism roller coaster for 7 years now but we're so proud of all DS's accomplishments. Today he took his first solo shower (had been doing baths) and wiped himself after toileting AND washed his hands without prompting. I know, doesn't sound big but for him it was HUGE . He told me "I'm 9 years old now mommy, I'm a big boy". Considering I never thought I'd ever hear him say "mommy", you can imagine the tear in my eyes as I type this now. Thanks for letting me boast
For someone who teaches Autistic children I can assure you I understand where your coming from and can do a for your little man .... Congratulations to you for how far he has come and a very to your DS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
