I know I've asked for a lot lately, but a few more would be appreciated. DD Alicia has been in a "more than remote" remote village this year, so contact has been spotty at best. Sunday they left the villages and went back to town for their last week to tie up loose ends, paperwork, team meetings etc... I was hoping to chat with her more online as she would have internet access, but she has not really been on much at all and I just found out why. She has Malaria.
Yes she has been on the prophylaxis, so to quote her "I was only very miserable and not entirely wanting to die, and thank God for my amazing friends who took such good care of me"
She left me two numbers to try and call her, but I have not been able to get through to either one. I will continue to try through out the day and post if I hear any updates. I am grateful beyond words that it was only Malaria after the ebola breakout a few villages away!! I just want it to be Saturday with her home safe and sound!
Being that it's been such a difficult few days I really feel the need to list five things I'm grateful for:
First of all that Alicia is alive!!
Second that although painful and really rather irritating, I still have my arm, and my work injury is relatively minor in the over all scheme of life!
Third: My DH took care of Ziggy last night and will bury her this morning. I don't think I could have dealt with having to do any of that!
Fourth: That my boys are healthy and have secure jobs!
Fifth: The sun is shining and it is a beautiful day out today, and to top it off, my friend who does massage therapy had a last minute cancellation so she is fitting me in to help with my shoulder!
PHEW! Yea, that definitely helps put things in perspective.
Thanks again for listening.
OMG. Karen, this page won't be big enough for all the pixies I want to send to you . Please know that I am sending far, far more mentally than I am virtually. I'm sorry that all of this is happening at once but that's Murphy's law I guess - when it rains, it pours. And as you said in your grateful list, everyone is okay - yes scraped and bruised (literally and/or figuratively), but still ok
My goodness you do have a lot of bad happening in your life right now. But it's great how you turned it around to look instead at the things you are grateful for. Many for all to be right again.
