Finally had my shoulder surgery on Friday! Other than the pre-op meds not working at all and me feeling every bit of the huge needles for the nerve block ouch! Everything went smoothly! I didn't sleep for nearly a day afterwards though. I guess I'm one of those people who have the 'opposite' effect with drugs! What's supposed to make me sleepy just didn't. Pain is managable, but it's hard to type. The worst of it is I can't shower until tomorrow. I'm just so happy and grateful that this thing is finally getting fixed and moving forward! THANK YOU everyone for all of your support during this long and crzy time.
Glad it all went well! Now for the healing and then PT to work.
I am not a pain wimp at all, but I found the post-surgery pain pretty intense once the nerve block wore off completely. So much so that I feared something was wrong-- it wasn't though. Ice packs nearly round-the-clock really helped!
