Family health update 11/9 Some folks here have been asking. No change on the relatives in Massachusetts, which is the best that can be hoped for. MiL is still in the local hospital. They figured out the right blend of narcotics and she is now pain free and continuing dialysis. We have not received the offical diagnosis. Another Aunt & Uncle and 2 of my wifes brothers are here visiting her this weekend. Till later. Don

Re: Family health update 11/9 Yes Donna, she spoke to the Doctor last evening. Her Mom has a "massive infection" in the buttocks area. This is in addition to the blood infection. They are administering antibiotics via her dialysis port. Should it not start to clear up in the next few days, she may require surgery. The problem with that is she is so weak, we do not believe she could get through or recover from a surgery. We will see. Don

Re: Family health update 11/9 Don, I am glad MIL is finally gotten pain under control. I am up here in MA praying for that bunch and will continue to pray for your MIL. My son had a huge infected pressure sore on his foot after one of his surgeries. We thought he would need surgery to fix it but a plastic surgeon suggested a topical medicine called Intrasite Gel. I think Smith-Kline is the drug co. that makes it. It healed the area in 1/2 the projected time. If I can recall correctly it also could be mixed with antibiotics. It is kind of new so not well known. Don't know if it can help her but maybe you could ask. Hope you are all as well as can be expected. Michele
