| Looking for opinions I was suppose to be moving thiw weekend into a House I was to rent from a relative thru marriage. The deal fell thru ( no fault of theirs) due to a court battle and they have to sell the House to get rid of the person giving them trouble. Anyway I was thinking about taking my 3 nephews to Hershey,Pa in July. But now I am thinking of using my AP to WDW one more time, plus I have some unused days & options left on other tickets to WDW. If Airline prices come down a bit. The thing is part of me says I should save for a House, the other part of me says they are 13 1/2 years old & 10 1/2 yrs old. If I don't take them this year it will be at least 2 yrs before I can take them again. It would be cheaper now than say later. How are the crowds the last weeks of July? I am used to the Hot as we have been in late August. Looking for everyones opinions. Housing Market has been bleak with what I can afford. been looking almost 2 yrs.
I am kind of depressed about the Lost House thing, it had 3 bedrooms , large yard for the kids to stay over & play. Nice neighborhood. I don't have a lot of Downpaynment so what I can afford is neighborhoods I would not want to live in or let the kids play in. So would you spend the $$$ on Disney & have fun or would you save for a House that is a ways off. |

| Re: Looking for opinions I'm probably not the best person to answer this as my motto has been "live life to the fullest' ever since my Mom died young...
my opinion would be to go to WDW... You don't know what's around the next corner so why not live & enjoy life.
But, I can see the practical side in saving for a house.... but......................... |

| Re: Looking for opinions OUr motto is you cant take it with you when you go and you never know when you are gonna go. So we vote WDW. We couldnt afford any of our trips and should have spent the money elsewhere, but you have to enjoy life a little. It makes working hard at a job seem more worthwhile. Good luck in whichever you choose.

Life is to be lived and if a house is REALLY important to you and a goal, I believe you will find a way to do both.
I guess it depends where your priorities are and what is most important to you.
Sending you some airfare Pixie dust- if you decide to go.
Good Luck,

| Re: Looking for opinions Yup, go to WDW. Life is short, play hard. Have you thought about driving down? Would you have enough vacation time to do that? It's a long way, but it'd save some money.
As for the house hunt, I can sympathize. It took me a loooong time to find a house I could afford. It's an old one (100+ years), and I had planned to fix it up, but then I ended up unemployed for a year, and when I got re-employed it was at a much lower salary, so fix-up is 'way off now. (Especially since I keep finding excuses to go to WDW.) There are days when I think about burning it down for the insurance money so I won't have to deal with the repairs! (Just kidding, in case my insurance agent is lurking here.)
Anyway, go and have fun. You'll eventually save up enough for a house you'll love, the cost of your trip probably won't make much difference in the long run, and you'll have some wonderful memories with your nephews. Plus, the trip will cheer you up from your disappointment. |
