RAIN RAIN RAIN FLASH FLOOD***UPDATE

We are under a flash flood watch here in New Orleans. The heavens are open. We needed rain but not this much. I hope it will stop a little to let the streets drain. We were let go at noon today from work becaue of the water. It was good to get out early but not because of this. How is the weather by you?

Thanks for all your pixie dust.

Kim

I'm not sure if you want to hear this seeing that there's a possible catastrophe lurking for you, but it's a beautiful summer day here. About 84º, light breeze and wispy little white clouds in a gorgeous blue sky.

Re: RAIN RAIN RAIN FLASH FLOOD***UPDATE

I've been watching "Bill" on our weather all day. Louisiana definately got hit with the worst of the rain. Here in the Houston area we got very little rain and had sunshine and 90 most of the day.

Re: RAIN RAIN RAIN FLASH FLOOD***UPDATE

Well, it is so nice to see the SUN this morning! Yesterday was windy, rainy, and downright ugly. I got to leave work yesterday at 11:45, and the streets downtown were already starting to flood. My power went out at around 4:20 and didn't come back until 10:00, just in time to go to sleep! You really don't realize how much you depend on electricity until you don't have it! Hope everyone else made out ok!

Re: RAIN RAIN RAIN FLASH FLOOD***UPDATE

We're only getting the top of Bill, so it's rain, rain, rain, but not heavy enough to cause flash floods. However, if it doesn't stop soon, it's goign to cause regular floods!

Re: RAIN RAIN RAIN FLASH FLOOD***UPDATE

I am doing the happy dance. The rain has stopped and the water has gone down. Now We have all the mess to clean up. I hate pine trees, they make a mess. All you can see is needles on the grass. I had two big limbs fall as well but they hit the ground only. Thank God that this was all that was done.

I'm so glad you didn't have any major damage, Kim! Let's hope nothing worse comes through during this hurricane season!
