| Labor Pixie Dust Well DH and I just got in from a trip to the hospital. I woke up at like 4A this morning and thought my water broke. I waited until my OB's office opened this morning and called her. She told me to go straight in and let them check me. I felt really stupid going in because I wasn't having any contractions at all, but I figured it would at least ease DH's mind.
So anyway, they ran all kinds of tests and couldn't tell for sure whether my water had broken or not. They said I may be leaking...but I may not. The triage nurse who checked me seemed like a real rocket scientist. I told her that when I was last checked I was dialated to a 3 and the baby's head was down. She checked me and said that basically my dr. is an idiot and I'm only at a 1 and she thought he was a "booty baby" not head down. So anyway, they did an ultrasound and he is definitely head down. After an hour and a half of staring at the little paper printouts from the heart and contraction monitor and wondering what the little mountain looking htings were the nurse finally came in and said that my contractions had been about 3 minutes apart for an hour?!? I wasn't feeling anything but a little pressure so I guess they weren't too productive though. Then they started dropping off so I really don't get it.
Anyway, they finally discharged me and the nurse said she felt like I was in early labor which could mean baby Joshua will be here before too long. They put me on bedrest which I really don't understand. The ultrasound tech said he was measuring a good 38 weeks instead of 36 so he sounds nice and cooked to me. I would definitely like to make another trip to the hospital very soon to get him out!
So anyway, if you have any pixie dust to spare I would sure appreciate it. I know the baby will come when he is nice and ready, but his mommy is MORE than ready! Hopefully I won't have a big wait like Courtney did!
By the way, Joshua is DEFINITELY a boy! They had told us he was after our first ultrasound, but I didn't see "it" so I was still in denial. After what I saw today, there is absolutely NO doubt |

| Re: Labor Pixie Dust I know what you're going through!
I had early labor and Bryson really wanted to come out early! I had been already dialated and dr. told me, for the last 2 months of pregnancy, to be bed ridden with a monitor strapped to my belly! (How incomfortable is this!?)
And not to mention I was taking medicine to stop the contractions that I was having! (small, but regular)
Lot's of and get some too. (You're probably tired of hearing this too!) for a smooth delivery! |

| Re: Labor Pixie Dust I hope it is early labor and things go quickly!! I'm sorry to hear about the bedrest, I was on it til 38 weeks and it's a pain!!! After 36 weeks they said I could move around the house a bit, but they really like these guys to stay in until 38 weeks!! It's great to hear that Joshua looks like he's 38 weeks. That's really good news. Hang in there, you'll get through it!! |
