| Medical/GYN Rant, may be TMI...you\'ve been warned!!!
I have been bleeding now for *14* (count 'em, 14) weeks. I went to the doctor and he gave me progestin with instructions. I followed them and had a whopping 2 day break, but it started up again. I called the office yesterday, no return call. Called again today, left a detailed message with a person and got "someone would call" me back, no return call. I am running out of medicine (at $50 per 21 pills if my insurance decides not to pay for it like they did on the last one b/c it was "too soon"  ) and I am running out of patience. This has gone on waaaaaayyyy too long.
The docs answer is to do an ablation, but that doesn't get to the root of the problem, which I believe to be excess estrogen that needs to be *properly* treated since it can lead to other really nasty things like breast or ovarian cancer. The doctors around here, esp the OB/GYNs are really losing their "touch" b/c of all of the insurance/malpractice junk going on and he's pretty much the only one left in my area.
I burst into tears last night and poor DH said if he didn't know better he'd think I was pregnant  I can put up with a lot of crap and pain (9 1/2 pound babies, knee surgeries, etc didn't make me cry), but this is putting me over the edge. It's hot, I have a life, and I do NOT need to be spending it changing clothes and running to the bathroom every 10 minutes.  Thanks for letting me vent. I'm just so sick and tired of it.       |
