How long does it normally take you to..................

OH MY GOSH! My body aches and my hand is permanently deformed - around a paint brush! How long does it usually take you guys to paint a room - you know a normal size bedroom - all of the walls (of course ) all of the trim with a base coat and then the real paint.....the new color? I am on day 3 of this project - and I am still not done! DH is beginning to feel sorry for me I think! He called me this afternoon and told me he would help me this evening - "the two of us can get it done in no time!" You see - he HATES to paint - so since I am home during the summer - I usually tackle this type of stuff. But I am exhausted and I really want to get this done! Besides - I just realized today - I am leaving for my Mom's in just a little over a week - and then we are off to Disney in 17 days! I have so much to do! I have got to get this painting project done!

Are you using a roller and taping your trim? I can usually prime, cut in, and roll 2 coats on a room in a couple of days max, allowing for drying time. If I get an early start, I can do it in a day, with the 2nd morning for the trim. Our bedroom remodel took a bit longer b/c it's actually 2 rooms combined and we used a dark burgundy paint, so it took several coats.

Paint on the way!

I don't want to think about painting, ugh! Usually, it takes me about 2 days to do a room, too, to tape off, prime coat and 2 regular paint coats. Good Luck! Hope you finish soon.

It seems to take us days and days, too! Every time we think we've figured a way to do it faster, but nope!

I try not to paint, as it takes forever to paint a room!

Ann, I am so with you on this - that's exactly how I felt a couple of months ago. I hope it's all done soon - if it makes you feel better, our spare room is still not finished, I have the rest of the doorframe to paint and DH has a bit of work to do in there, so you'll probably beat us!

DH won't let me do it because I'm not good enough It took him 3 months (I kid you not) to paint DDs nursery The room is only about 10x15. Enough said there

I hope your hand feels better soon

Gotta figure out who around here will paint in exchange for piano lessons....

Re: How long does it normally take you to..................

Depends on the color. Our bedroom/vestibule is dark red which took 3 coats + 1 gray primer, but the livingroom was just 1 coat + 1 primer. Wally cuts the trim, because like Marnie's DH says, I'm not good enough at it.
