| Cell Phone...Updated 11/16 Final Update... I am so mad right now [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] I have had my cell phone since May 13, 2004. I like it good enough because i know how to use it and I can have Disney wallpapers and ringers! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/woot.gif[/img] Well here comes the part I am so mad about... it broke! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] I was running late Thursday to work and as i jumped out of the car It got wings and flew right out of my hand and crash landed onto the concrete floor of the garage at work! Well i picked it up and called my friend and it worked. I used it many times on Thursday and this morning. Well i get to work and it just stops [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/zcry.gif[/img] It turns on and you can see all the numbers and wallpaper and ringtones but you can't call out and hear anything but dead silence! So Saturday Morning I am off to Verizon to have it looked at and most likely they will have to replace it! At least I bought the extended warranty (the lose, break, stolen, anything and we will replace it plan)! So if you could send some "It will be a painless replacement process" pixie I would appreciate it! And have you ever had a cell phone die like that? Amy       |

The phone itself worked fine, but you couldn't see anyting on the screen at all. Not very useful. Of course it happened about 6 months after the warranty ended. | Re: Cell Phone... Amy, have you tried taking the battery out for a minute and then putting it back in? This sounds like the problem my mom had with her cell and the salesperson at radio shack told her to do this and it worked. |

| Re: Cell Phone... If you have had the same phone for that long, maybe they will replace and upgrade it for free. T Mobile will every year, or they have for me. Good luck- mine died last spring ( actually the dog tried to make a call or something because it was in his mouth )and I had to get a new one- |

| Re: Cell Phone...Update 11/5 I went to Radio Shack where i Purchased the phone (at least i bought the extended service plan) and the not so friendly guy who works there looked at it and said he could send it out to be looked at by a technician and I may get it back in 6 days but probably longer [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] So he told us to go to Verizon they had a store downstairs and their technician might be able to fix it! Ok so i go to them... The guy at Verizon looks at it [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/082502yes_prv.gif[/img] definately broken as he can duplicate the problem as by the time I got to Radio Shack it was working again but I wasn't going to take a chance I want it to be working all the time not just when it feels like working. So this guy tells me he can replace the phone but since my Warranty with Verizon is caput it will cost me $69 to replace a phone I paied $99 originally for [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] Sooo... Back to Radio Shack I go. The not so friendly man takes it and I ask if he can just replace it since the Techincian at Verizon was going to as he wouldn't be able to fix it. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/082502no_prv.gif[/img] I have to send it out and wait for it to come back before they can replace it *IF* their Technicians can't fix it. So My phone is now on its way to Kentucky to be looked at so I have no phone and I have to drive at night in a car that is not that reliable right now on a road with no gas stations, no restaurants, nothing between my work and my house [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/zcry.gif[/img] My parents are going to rotate their phones so that I can use one of theirs while I am at work but this just really makes me mad! The only good thing is that it didn't die when I was in New Bedford that would have been a very long drive for me. So continued pixies that they can either fix it or replace it and that I find out asap! Thanks Amy |
