| I\'m a mess! This is long. and a little gross
I finally went to the doctor yesterday about a few problems I have been having. Problem 1: I had this spot on the side of my nose by my eye for about 2yrs now. Kind of like a dry spot wouldn't heal. Solution: Some sort of pre-cancerous thing. Great. Well she used this freeze stuff on it and said don't worry it will go away now. Problem 2: Deformed swollen left index finger. 3/6/04 my finger swelled up and became very painful. After 6 months of seeing the hand specialist and 3 months of hand therapy, then 2 months with the rumatoligist(i know i spelled that wrong)they still never figured out what was wrong. Can't bend it more than 1/4 way, hypersensitive, 15% strength, not as painful as the beginning but still hurts, and it looks like a sausage. So I stopped going to the doctors for about a year, just tried to deal with it. sometimes the swelling goes down a little. Solution: calling neurologist today to make appt.. Problem 3: Left Ankle bone. When we got back from Disney early Sept. I had what I thought was a blister on my ankle. Left it alone, let it scab. Then when I thought it was ready to come off, it wasn't. It was very deep. Not good. Next day I had a golf ball where my ankle should be. Got an antibiotic and some cream. Scab went away, swelling went down but not 100%. Now the scab is back and i have a golfball again. Can't put any pressure on it, and have sharp stinging pains in it sometimes. Solution: First an xray, then different cream, different antibiotic, and if that doesn't work going to the dermatologist. Boy, did I feel like a hypocondriac. My doctor is very nice, and she yelled at me for not coming sooner. So hopefully I can get this all straightened out soon. I have enough stress planning this wedding, let alone literally falling apart. Any hope they figure out what is wrong with you pixies would be great. Thanks for letting me vent. I had the same not healing scab thing on my arm many years ago. Same thing you had....a precancerous lesion. Had it cut out. Dermatologist also found at the same time, what I thought was a pimple under my eye (that woulnd't go away) as a precancerous thing too (he also cut that out and stitched it up).
So this is a caution to anyone. If you see anything wierd on your skin that isn't going away....go to your dermatologist. There are many ways cancer and pre-cancers can manifest themselves on your skin. (I was only 26 when we found these things....so it's not just for older people).
