Downtown Disney restaurants

I'm trying to decide where to eat at Downtown Disney. I'd really like to do Cap'n'Jacks, which we missed out last night, but I'd also like to try the Portobello Yacht Club (another one we missed on our last vacation ) and the Wolfgang Puck Dining Room, but I'm not sure I'll have time to do them all.

Has anyone eaten at any of these and what did you think of them? I need help deciding which ones to keep and which ones to get rid of from my list.

Re: Downtown Disney restaurants

We ate at the Wolfgang Puck Cafe, out on the patio. It was awesome, the view, the food and the service, topnotch in my book.
What really impressed me was when the waiter asked if we had any food allergies and was very accomodating to be sure i got a dish that i could eat.
Plus we got seated right away at 5pm with no ADR!!!!!

I ate at Portobello my last trip. I had the Pasta Purses (filled with cheese) served with sauteed spinich, brown butter sage, tomatoes and basil leaves for appetiser, the double cut pork chop served with garlick wilted spinich and balsamic onions for entree, and torta di Mascarpone (espresso soaked lady finger with mascarpone cream, dusted with cocoa) for dessert. Food and service were excellent

Re: Downtown Disney restaurants

My vote is to RUN SCREAMING from Cap'n Jacks!!!! I really really hope that it was a one time thing but DH and I will never ever go there again.....we sat at a table that was sort of near the kitchen/behind the bar and we watched 3 cockroaches crawl in and out of the drawers and on the counter where the food was waiting....Unfortunately, we had already eaten so it was too late to run away. Like I said, that's just my experience but we'll personally never go there again!

Here is another vote to run screaming from Cap'n Jacks. Worst experience we have ever had at Disney. We do however love Wolfgang Puck Cafe. Their Fettucini Wolfredo and pizzas were to die for and the service was excellent! I would imagine that the Dining Room is even better.

Re: Downtown Disney restaurants

We had dinner in the upstairs dining room at Wolfgang Puck's and had an amazing meal. It's much quieter upstairs and the view from the windowside tables is lovely. The service was superb and the food fabulous. I heartily recommend this restaurant.

Re: Downtown Disney restaurants

We love eating at Pucks on the patio. Beautiful view, great service, fantastic food. Always a fave.

Portobello also ranks high on our list of must-do agains. Had our annivesary dinner there and was certainly the food highlight of that trip. I mentioned there was a dish I liked on the menu but not with that particular sauce and they said "no problem". Made it with the sauce I wanted. Quite tasty, too. Can't pass up the espresso gelato with tiny crunchy bits of toffee.

Re: Downtown Disney restaurants

We don't have much luck with DTD dinners, but hoping our luck will change with Raglan Road. Bongo's was the worst we've ever had, anywhere.
