| Which character meal? We're visiting the World in late Nov. and would like to include a character meal in our plans. I'm not sure which one to make reservations for, maybe you can help. We've been to WDW before but never had a character meal. Which restaurant is your favorite? Which characters are the most fun? My youngest son likes Pooh and Mickey, my oldest son adores Pluto. I'd like to eat with both Mickey and Minnie and DH doesn't care who he eats with as long as there's plenty to eat. Is there a way to know if Pluto will be present with Mickey? Which meal is best for picky eaters? B'fast, lunch or dinner? Which location has the most relaxed atmosphere? That's a lot of questions for one post. Thanks for the feedback.
This is my first time posting, can't wait to do it again! |

| Re: Which character meal? First, let me say WELCOME! I don't do a lot of posting, but I sure enjoy reading. This is a great group of people. Everyone is so kind and full of Disney-love.
Next, I would do breakfast if you have pickey eaters. It seems to have more "normal" options. A good bet for finding Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale is Chef Mickey's at the Contemp Resort. I don't know of any character meal with Pluto. For Pooh and the gang you can't go wrong with the Crystal Palace at MK.
Good luck,
tenya |

| Re: Which character meal? If you go to Deb Wills site at www.wdwig.com you'll find a topic called 'Where the characters dine'. Currently, it says Pluto appears at Restaurantosaurus,Hollywood & Vine and Liberty Tree Tavern. But,as with everything else, it's subject to change. You can also consult the 'menus' at Deb's site which really helps with picky eaters. You'll know in advance if there will be foods that they like. Happy planning! |

| Re: Which character meal? Hi, Welcome to the Boards!
As a picky eater myself, I find the breakfast menus usually offer me the best options -- particularly the buffets.
If you like dining with Mickey & Pluto, a relaxed atmosphere, lotsa character/server interaction, a great buffet, & plenty of fun -- then I would have to vote for Donald's at AK. It is my absolute FAVORITE character meal in the world. You will also meet up with Donald & Goofy here, too!
Another great option is the Garden Grill at Epcot (in the Land). This is a "revolving restaurant" that serves all-you can eat "plated" (or rather "skilleted!") meals. The food is "country-cooking," but if you let the CM know you have a picky eater when you make the dining ressie -- the chef will accomodate you. I am a picky vegetarian, so the chef actually met with me to discuss my preferences. At this restaurant, you will meet Pluto, Mickey, Chip, & Dale. It is a fun atmosphere with good food, as well. We have only done breakfast here.
We have also eaten at Crystal Palace in the MK (we have done breakfast & lunch buffets), Cindy's in the MK (for breakfast, plated), Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK (dinner, family style), Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary (dinner buffet), Artist Point at WL (breakfast, plated), & 1900 Park Fare at the GF (breakfast, buffet).
Happy feasting!

| Re: Which character meal? Hi and Welcome! We've only done one character meal so far. It was lunch at Hollywood & Vine, and it was great, lots of guest interaction with characters, fun and good food. They also do breakfast. The characters are Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Chip & Dale.
Have a greart time! |

| Re: Which character meal? My two cents worth:
We never did a character meal until last year... mom, dad, sis (24) and me (27)! LOL! We had more fun than I could have imagined and now I'm hooked! We did 3, on the spur of the moment they were so fun!!
If you can do two, I would go for Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary... the characters are very interactive and the food is great! Dinner/lunch would be perfect for this restaurant.
2nd I would do breakfast at Hollywood & Vine. These characters are a blast, and its not real crowded. The food was fabulous too! I believe this to be the only 'Pluto' character meal. Minnie is there too, but no Mickey!
Good luck! |

| Re: Which character meal? Hi, and welcome.
As we are 100 days from our second trip with our two year old, we ate at least one character meal a day last year. Pooh at Crystal Palace is great! We did breakfast and there was every possible breakfast item on the buffet I don't see how you wouldn't find something that you liked. We had dinner at both Garden Grill and Chef Mickey's. The characters were really great at Chef Mickey's, it was a really fun atmosphere and again buffet. GG was a "skilltet" dinner. We're not picky but this was not one of our favorites. We do really enjoy the breakfast at GG however.
If you can't find Pluto at any of the character meals we have great pics of DD with him taken at The Judges tent in Mickey's Toon Town Fair in MK. |

I agree that breakfast is probably the best bet with having "normal" foods for you. This is the mom of 2 picky eaters talking!
We saw Pluto, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy at Donald's Breakfastosaurus last year. We also love Chef Mickeys (Chip,Dale,Mickey,Goofy, and I think Minnie).

| Re: Which character meal? I thought my kid was the only one obsessed with seeing Pluto! We are doing Breakfastasaurus and were wondering what it's like (the atmosphere, not the food)? My sons are very big animal/dinosaur fans so it really seemed the perfect place. |

| Re: Which character meal? My favorite character breakfast was at Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle, but it's very hard to get reservations. The atmosphere is fantastic and the food was excellent. All of the princesses were there as well as Aladdin and the Fairy Godmother. |

| Re: Which character meal? Chef Mickey's is a blast and a lot of choices for the picky eaters.
We've never eaten at the AK Character Breakfast, but I've heard nothing but good reviews.
Over the years we've done quite a few character meals and each has it's own special moments, even if you don't get to see your favorite at a meal, chances are you'll find them somewhere.
We found Pluto at the Garden Grill and at E-Ride Nights at MK.
The Grand Floridian is now doing dinner with Pooh and the Gang at 1900 Park Fair and you can find them at Crystal Palace as well.
There are lots of places to catch Mickey and even Minnie
Happy choosing, let us know what you decide. |
