hello -- it has been YEARS since i've eaten at DTD (pre-West End). I'm seriously considering cancelling dinner at Shutters and replacing with a restaurant at DTD, followed by La Nouba (already booked). Make an entire evening out of DTD.
I need restaurant advice -- traveling w/ a slightly picky eater (not too bad) -- need a restaurant w/ mass appeal. The only thing he absolutely won't eat is seafood.
We had a great meal at Wolfgang Puck's (downstairs) before we went to La Nouba in August. There was lots to choose from on the menu (sushi, fish, poultry, meat, pasta) and it was one of our better dining experiences from that trip
I'm partial to the Wolfgang Puck Cafe. It's very close to La Nouba. One of my favorite dishes there is the Fettucini Wolfredo. It's like fettucini alfredo, but with pancetta and more spicy. I also their creme brulee! They hae a dining room upstairs that is more upscale, but I usually eat on the main level. It can be a bit noisy there, but the food is good. Enjoy!

Another vote for Wolfgang Puck's. One of the big appeals to this restaurant is that Puck does typical comfort foods - meatloaf, spaghetti, etc. with upscale twists. Typically, he uses better quality meats, or different spices to make these homestyle favorites even better.
I know there is a website that has the menus of all the Disney restaurants..I think it's somewhere on All-Ears...I know one of the other Passporters can give you the link.
Well if you are looking for lots of appeal for a little one I would maybe consider the Rainforest Cafe at the Downtown Disney Marketplace. It provides a lot of entertainment for kids.
I personally like Captain Jacks, we were not impressed with Wolfgang Pucks at all. The service was poor at best and it was too loud! Just my personal opinion of course!
thanks guys -- as it turns out, Planet Hollywood and Wolfgang Puck's are the only two restaurants that participate in the DDP. I emailed the menus to my friend and he picked PH (wouldn't have been my choice, but...what can u do?).
DH and I went to PH during last year's trip. Now I must preface this with the fact that I LOVE PH!! But I was highly disappointed! It was overcrowded, had slow service, and our food was terrible. The Captain Crunch Chicken Tenders were soggy and DH's hamburger was very dry. We had a second reservation for two days later, but we cancelled it and went to the Sci Fi Diner instead. Hopefully you will have a better time!
PH would not be MY restaurant of choice (frankly, would rather eat dirt), but that's where my friend (who's never been to WDW or PH) wants to eat. Will be quite an evening.......Planet Hollywood, followed by La Nouba (eating dirt and sticking a hot poker in my eye).
