Sorry this is so long, but it is a little complicated.
I called the other day to double check my ADR's I always do this to make sure I have the information right and so do they.
Last year we had no problems at all. This year all my ADR's checked out except one.
I called exactly 180 days to get one at WCC, because I knew it would be a hard one to get. The CM asked me how many people in the party, I said 10, she said any children I said yes 3. Then she said are you using the dining plan again I said yes and then she asked about the children and I said that 2 of them were under the age of 3. She said I only need the number of those on the DDP and ordering. I said that would be 8 people, but that we still had the two under 3 she said they did not count children under 3, so I assumed she knew more than me, so I said ok. So I got an ADR for WCC for 8 people.
Then when I called Friday the CM said the reservation was for 8 and I said yes, and we also have 2 under the age of 3 she said but it only says 8, not 10, then I proceeded to explain to her the whole story, of what the last CM told me. She said we do not have any more large reservations available for that night except at 9:30. I said that would not work, because the children would be exhausted. I kept my original reservation, and am hoping that it will work out in the end. One child is 1 and the other is 2.
This is my only chance to see my sister and her children and grandchildren, they live in TN and we live in TX, so I was really looking forward to meeting up with them.
What do you think we should do? Any experience would help, or suggestions.
I don't know if this helps or not, but a few years ago when we had 20 at WDW together, we couldn't all be seated together at 1900 Park Fare. They gave me two ressies for 10 each and noted that we'd like to be seated at tables that were close together. When we got there, we told the CM, as well, that we'd like to be seated together and they pushed tables together for us. This happened another time for us at the 1900 PF for a last minute ADR with 9 of us--they pushed tables together for us, which worked out perfectly. Hope it all works out for you and you get to spend time with your sister.
Maybe you could call the manager of the restaurant and talk to him/her. We were there this fall and I really think with the layout they have the ability to move tables together freely! Hope it works out for you! This was one of our 2 fave meals this past trip!!
I'm another who think they will be able to accomodate you. My advice would be to get to the restaurant early (maybe 20 minutes before your ADR) and let the hostess know your needs and briefly explain what the CM on the phone did to you plans.
If you're willing to be patient, I'm pretty sure they'll take care of you!
Eileen
I am glad you all think I did the right thing, by keeping the reservation. My thoughts were to get there early and check in and explain the situation and hopefully they will work with us. Since our ADR is for 5:15 maybe it will not be so packed yet. None of us have ever eaten there and we are all looking so forward to it and we will be a lot of fun because we are a fun bunch!
