This will be my first time booking ADR's with the online system available. Do you find it easier to do it yourself online than to call? Or do most people still call to make their ADR's? We've got the free dining plan booked for next August (so still quite a while before I can even make our Adr's).
Thanks!

Way easier to do online and it's very quick. If your requested time is not available it offers alternate times and places to choose from. You can make special dietary requests. You can add special celebration info (such as birthday, etc). You can print copies of your reservations right away. And you can review all your reservations anytime. Very easy, quick and user firendly.
Good to hear! What are the success rates for securing a place like Cinderella's Royal Table (breakfast) or Le Cellier online? Previously, I had always had great success getting CRT by phone.
I made ADR's for the first time this trip, so I've never called. But I found the on-line system to be very easy to use! (Plus, I hate talking to people if I can avoid it. )

I made my ADRs online this year and I was able to get CRT for dinner on Christmas Eve. I think the advantage with hard to get reservations is that you can start online at 6 am, a whole hour before the phone lines open up at 7 am.
I'm a fan of the online option. I like the way you can just ask what's available at any given park at any time. That way I can see what restaurants are available to us when we want to eat. I also like getting the email confirmation for each ADR.

Its much easier to secure a CRT or Le Cellier reservation online. You get access to the system and hour earlier and if your requested time is not available the system will offer you other options either at the same or similar restaurants.
If something you want isn't there immediately, you can try it a different way or a different time (searching for a party of 3 versus a party of 2 or looking for something an hour earlier or later). I love the way you can filter it (for example, I want to eat in MK at 4pm on Saturday). I also love that I can go back into the system at any time to review my ADRS as well as change or update them if I want.
Once, I was watching TV with FDH and something just occurred to me (I think it might have been Tusker House breakfast), and I was able to grab the laptop and check out the availability in about 45 seconds flat. It's just such a breeze, and it's also kind of fun and exciting!
I honestly hate calling Disney. I feel like it takes forever to get a real person on the line, and then you don't always get someone who knows what they're talking about. Most of the time, they're slower than I am on the computer (or their programs or slow … something). It can be frustrating and time consuming.

I much prefer doing it myself online. Even though the CMs use their database all day, in general I can navigate a website/computer much faster than the average person. I feel more confident that I can access the reservations faster. Two years in a row I was able to get Le Cellier at the dates and times we've wanted, as well as the other restaurants at the dates and general times we've wanted. I'm so glad they've started the online system.
I did my ADRS for the first time online about 3 weeks ago. VERY easy to do and much faster than calling and talking to a live person. Plus it was easy to go back online when I wanted to cancel a ressie and add a new one. You should definitely give it a try!
