Do the Brita water bottle filters actually take the taste away from the water? I find the water in Florida to have an odd taste and we're trying to save money on the upcoming trip and I saw the Brita bottle filters at my local grocery store here in Toronto the other day and was wondering about them.
We always just get a cup of ice water when we need a drink. I like carrying around those single serving flavored drink mix packets to add to the water - they are easier to carry around than whole extra bottles of water!
I usually bring at least one bottle for each of us to start the day (the kids carry their own bag with their own bottle of water if they are bring more than just water and money with them).
I also will bring those individual packets of Crystal Light or whatever brand you like in case we fill from the bubbler - it covers up the icky taste enough usually.

I brought my Brita waterbottle with me everyday. Just filled it with ice and water at the resort before heading to the parks and then was able to refill anytime I needed to. Very handy and love that I am getting it filtered at the same time.

You can but we never have a problem with their water so we normally don't Sometimes we bring regular bottled water for the plane and keep it in the room for at night.

We brought our water bottles the first few days, but stopped after that.
Any food service place will give you a cup of ice water for free. The water at the food service places is filtered. Since we went during a non crowded time, it was easy enough to do and I enjoyed not having to carry and keep track of all of the water bottles. We were drinking enough at our meals that we only stopped a few times to get any extra.
Yes you can, I buy the Brita water bottles and take those along..It has the Brita filter which filter's out the taste of the Florida water ( I don't care for the taste of Fl water) I also buy single packs of kool aid and add this to the water for the children. You can get them at walmart, target or similar store's were you live, they run 10.00 and this includes your filter refillable filters are about 8 each but they are good for about 3 months at a time.

FYI - the replacement filter packs renbugs mentioned are actually about $8 for TWO filters.
Each filter on a Brita bottle is good for about 3 months or up to 50 gallons of water, whichever comes first.
Caution: Do not use any drink mix powders or other additives in a bottle with a filter! Those additives clog the filters, and the filters actually filter out a lot of the flavor, anyway, so it's just a big waste all around. If you're using a flavor additive, remove the filter from the bottle and put it back after the flavored water is gone, or use another bottle without a filter.
I also tried taking a personal Britta bottle last year and I was thrilled with the results. In August you have to stay hydrated and the Britta filter gave the water a great taste. It was a bit of a pain lugging it around, but as you can see from my photo I became part pack-horse at some point. What's one more thing?
