Rainforest Cafe - downtown Disney

I rcvd some Disney gift cards for Christmas and am wondering if I can use them at this restaraunt next month when we are there.

And, we have lunch ressies at 1 PM. About how long should I plan for us to be there? Also, any menu items we should be sure not to miss?

Thanks!

I've never tried using a Disney Gift card at this location, but I'm thinking you will probably not be able to use them. Rainforest Cafe is run by Landrys, and while it is on Disney property it is not owned by Disney.

I would leave atleast an hour for your meal, depending on how crowded the restaurant is. Enjoy your meal!

I agree with the above post, but I wanted to share that if you want to you can have your Disney Gift Cards applied to your room bill at the front desk. So then you can use that extra money for your meal!

I would call and ask RFC about the Disney giftcard thing. My first impulse was also to say probably not, but since they are now accepting the Disney DP (just starting this year), I'm not sure.

As for how long to plan to be there - I would say 45 min to an hour. Lunch is usually served pretty quickly. (Of course that depends too on whether you are ordering appetizers, entree, and dessert or just an entree like I tend to)

My FAVORITE dish is Planet Earth Pasta. It's penne pasta with a tomato sauce and slices of Italian sausage and mozzerella. It is SO GOOD. It's also served with a chunk of garlic focaccia bread. This is one of (if not my #1) my favorite meals in all of WDW. I insist on going to RFC every time we are there just so I can get it. In fact, I will be having it this Thursday for dinner, when we go to RFC for our first meal after we get to WDW. If you like hot (spicy hot) food like my DH, he has enjoyed the Pastalaya several times.

Hope you like RFC as much as we do!!
