Booking CRT without dining plan, but may add it later

Well, we are on the fence about adding the dining plan to our package, but I will be booking breakfast at CRT at my daughter's request. Most likely, we will not have the dining plan added when I make my ADRs. So, what happens? I know the meal must be prepaid, but if we do eventually add the dining plan will Disney refund us that money?

Yes, you'll show them your KTTW when you are seated and they'll make sure to refund your CC or they may give you a DIsney Gift Card in the correct amount and use your meal credits instead.

Just remember that they will not credit you back until you eat there and pay with your credits. A way around this is to add the dinning plan now if you are going to get it anyway. Or you can prepay now and try to make the reservation when you add the dinning plan then cancel your prepay ressie.

Thanks! I really need to crunch the numbers to see if the DP will be worth it for us. I've got some time, I can't make my ADRs until May. I will decide before then though, since I don't want to have to wait until our trip to get a refund.

I know what you mean with crunching the numbers. With the changes they have made to the dining plan, it really makes no cents (pun intended) to purchase it. We plan on using TIW the next time we go and just put some money on gift cards so it feels prepaid to us. Good luck in you decision!
