Free Dining next week?

I just heard from friends going to WDW next week and are just now asking about the dining plan. They say they can get the QSDP for their family and asked if I think it would be good for them. I know that most say the QSDP doesnt save any $ but my question is is there free dining available? Are they too late to get it?

I don't believe there is any Free Dining promotion currently running (the last one had to be booked a while back.)

Eileen is correct. The Free Dining promotion had to be booked by the end of December.

At just to be clear to those anxiously waiting for Free Dining offers - Sara and I are referring to the most recent Free Dining promotion available to the general public.

That's not to say they won't release PIN code promotions offering Free Dining at some point, or that the expected "Fall Free Dining" (which has been offered for travelers from mid-August through September the past few years) won't also be offered again this year.

QSDP worked nicely for us in the past, but with the second snack gone and the fact that we didn't need a dessert with every meal, I would not think it's the best way to go. They should just pay as they go, unless they just want convenience of paying once and not thinking about it on vacation.

I have seen it on TV the last few days that they are doing QSDP promo. Dont know the dates or anything but it says for family of 4 staying at a value with QSDP it is like 94.00 a night. But that is just what I seen on TV.

That's interesting. According to Disney's special offers page, that's not one of the promotions they're offering:

Disney World Special Offer | Disney World Deals | Walt Disney World Resort

The only general public offer they're promoting is "Save up to 30% at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels this spring!
Book through February 28, 2012 for stays most nights April 13, 2012 to June 14, 2012. "

Additionally, Mousesavers (who usually has all promotions listed as quickly as they come out) doesn't show it. And Sara, who's a travel agent, confirmed my impression....

Hmmmm.... This is a puzzlement!

That offer refers to the current Spring Room Only offer. It is not a Free Dining promotion. It says something about a family of 4 at a value resort with the QSDP.

My DH and I saw that the other day too! We just returned on Sat. And said to me, "Well now we can go AGAIN!". With sarcasm . I didn't catch the dates either...

I've seen the commercial too and all they are doing is advertising rack rates at the values with a QSDP. Its an advertisement, not a discount or promotion.
