Akershus v O'Hana? Advice needed please!!!!!

I have to admit that I'm getting so indecisive the older i get! .

The background to my story is that I want to plan a post-birthday surprise for my oldest DD. (The youngest gets her actual b/day while we are in WDW so I want to something special for my oldest as her birthday is just before we go). So my plan all along has been to do Akeshus on our 1st morning (an early ADR - we aren't staying on site but will still be on UK time) and surprise her when we arrive with a birthday badge etc and make it about her.

However she LOVES Stitch - he's her favourite character and now I'm second guessing myself. Would she prefer Ohana's character breakfast? We haven't been to either place but to me I get the impression that Akershus is more of an experience???

I'd love to hear about everyone's experiences at these places and then maybe I could decide. (I don't want to come right out and ask her as I want it to be a surprise)

Thanks!!!!

Jayne x

I haven't done breakfast at 'Ohana, but have done it at Akershus.
I think you should stick with Akershus. I thought it was pretty great. Princess interaction was better than at CRT for us. And part of the reason is I'd not choose 'Ohana is that you can't be sure that Stitch will be at 'Ohana the day you are there (they don't guarantee any character will be at a meal even if they are usually there) and if that's the only reason you would choose it, its not enough, imo.

I didn't have the best Ohana experience, we were kind of forgotten. We spent 1.5 hours there and only saw one character. The food was good at both of them, but I'd give the edge to Akershus: better service, cold buffet with fruit and pastries, and better character interaction. You can always catch Stitch in one of the parks.

We have yet to visit Akeshus but have been to Ohana for breakfast. We are also Stitch fans and loved going to O'hana's. Plan on making adr's again for our fall trip. Hope everyone has a wonderful trip.

Another vote for Akerhaus! Even knowing she's a Stitch fan, I'd still go with the other. I've just not been impressed with Ohana for quite a few years, even though we keep trying it out, hoping it will get better.

Same here, would choose Akershus over Ohana. Like Teresa, not as impressed; it wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either.

Haven't done Ohana for breakfast, so I can't really say if that would be a good choice or not, but I think Akershus would be great! When we were there, we were greeted by Belle (and you get your picture taken with her for a keepsake!) and then the following princesses came around to our table: Snow White, Ariel, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. Each princess spent at least a couple of minutes with my girls and since my youngest was dressed as Snow White, Snow White actually had a sweet conversation with her "You must have been in my closet, we're wearing the same thing!" And I love the breakfast meal at Akershus!

I've eaten at both (normally lunch for Akershus though) but I would go with Akershus. I've eaten three times at Ohana's for breakfast and each time we just had a bad experience so now for that restaurant, it's 3 times and they're out. Akershus on the other hand, every time we've eaten there, we've had great service, great interaction and great food. Plus as mentioned, the photo package there is included with the cost of your meal whereas at Ohana's in an addition cost (roughly $30 last I knew).

Good luck deciding. I know it's never easy.

We did both Akurshus and Ohana on our trip this past August so I will give you a recent trip experience. Akurshas your characters are Belle, Cinderella,Ariel,Aurora,Mulan, & Snow White. Ohana's characters are Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto. For Akurshus you have a buffet style as for Ohana you get what is brought to the table. The character experience at Akurshus is better, but Ohana wasn't all that bad.If you are looking for the overall experience I'd choose Akurshus. If she really loves Stitch you will get more interaction with him in the parks than at the breakfast.

We have been to both and have loved both. My daughter loves stitch as well as the princessess. Both were an amazing experience. I would go with wichever character she likes more, stitch or the princesses.

We've done both and I have a DS and a DD. I think both would prefer to go back to Ohana than Akurshus. We had good interaction with stitch, actually it was better there than with the Princesses. One thing I like better at Ohana is the juice.....loved the juice. My DS still talks about that juice.

We've done both and I don't think you can go wrong with either. We've had great dining experiences at both.
