I have decided to splurge a bit for my next trip and take out the deluxe plan. Having never been to Hoop de Doo ( more Hoop de Don't) I thought we'd give it a whirl so I could tick it off my list of 10 Disney things to Doo before I die.
So I try to book on the online reservation system thingy and it is asking me for full payment. Which is fair enough but how does that work with the DDP? Will I get a refund? Do I have to phone?
Also, if it matters, I haven't yet booked the DDP on account of having to pay for it at the time of booking and my piggy bank being a tad empty at the moment.
Karen, (with a great big, sloppy HELLO!!! thrown in)
If you had booked the DDP on your reservation, and then gone into the on-line system to book HDDR, it would not charge you for the reservation. It would see your DDP and let you book without paying any cash.
Since you don't have the DDP on the reservation, it will insist on charging you when you book HDDR.
And, once you're on property with the DDP and go to the HDDR, they will be able to give you a refund of the pre-paid amount and use DDP credits to "pay" for the meal. (Or you could call back once you add the DDP to your reservation and have them credit the charge card charge.)
So glad to see you and your family's smiling, happy faces again!

Ha - makes sense. Thank you, Eileen. Great advice.
And it's lovely to be back in Passporterland. I have had a couple of bad luck years but I am so hoping that I have turned that metaphorical corner and I can stand at the top of Main Street and gaze at the castle.
With regard to the smiling faces, if I were to update my siggy pic, it would show a much balder Steve, a much fatter me, and our respective hands placed firmly around the jugulars of our respective children. So I'll stick with the one I've got!!!
