I was reading on here the other day that people were having issues booking their ADR's. I had an issue this morning. After trying for 20 minutes online, I called Disney Dining and garnered my one ADR after another 30 minutes.
Later today, I canceled an ADR. That cancellation e-mail arrived and had the new ADR number on it! I went to the website and put in the canceled ADR number to be told it no longer existed (Good news!). I went to my reservations and located my new ADR, which is apparently still valid. How in the world (no pun intended) did I get a cancellation notice for a valid ADR, but rec'd no cancellation notice for the ADR I actually canceled?
I tried to book ADR's for three days online earlier in the day to no avail but finally got them booked. The website was very slow and would just hang up. It was frustrating but they are finally booked. We had so many that I just didn't want to stay on the phone trying to book them all. Thankfully everything was available at the times we wanted. I agree that you need to double check with all the web issues.
My ADR time is only 6 days away but I thought I would check out the site. It didn't recognize my confirmation number but when I put it in yesterday, it recognized it and said my 180 days was not here yet. I guess some days it works and others it doesn't for whatever reason.
Disney's res system does get weird at times. I'm on it everyday and the craziest thing that happened was a few weeks back. I was trying to book for a client and there was no availability for the 4 nights she wanted. She was flexible in the dates so I changed the check in date one day earlier but I forgot to change the check out date. The res system comes back and said it was available for the 5 nights. How can it be available for 5 nights when it wasn't for 4? So I modified it back to the original 4 nights and was not available. I made it for 5 nights again and it was available. So I put a courtsy hold on the res for 5 nights and called Disney.
I asked the Disney res agent to look for 4 nights and she said it was not available. I told her to add a night in the beginning and she replied why look for 5 nights when we can't get 4. I asked her to humor me and sure enough it was available. She couldn't understand why and she said she's never seen anything like that in her 10 years with Disney. So anything can happen.

This exact same thing happened to me several times last June while trying to make ADRs for our Christmas trip last year. There were 9 in our traveling party, so needless to say, I was super-paranoid about showing up at Disney and not having an ADR! But every time I would make a new reservation and then cancel a prior one, I would get a cancellation email showing that the new ADR had been cancelled, when, in fact, the new one was still in place and the old one had been cancelled. Every time it happened, I called Disney Dining and made them go through every reservation I had to make sure that their list still matched mine. I know they probably thought I was a lunatic!
From a big picture perspective, I love Disney, but it seems to me that they are seriously lagging behind in technology. The online dining reservation system has never been reliable -- sometimes it won't recognize your reservation #, sometimes your reservations "disappear" and you have to search for them, sometimes it sends you cancellation notices for ADRs you didn't cancel. For a company with the resources of Disney, I honestly expect a bit more.

I have already been worrying about this for our trip next year. I think I will book online at 6 AM, and then either I or my travel agent can call back after 7 AM and make sure everything is showing up correctly.
The online ADR system has been crazy for more than a couple of weeks. Last Thursday I finally got a hold of a CM who confirmed the system is having some major issues and there was no projected eta for it to be fixed.
Also as a warning...she said if you managed to snag an ADR during the time the system was having 'issues' to go back and check on them again. The system deleted a lot of ADRs on its own early last week. (although they were ones that had gone through when the system was 'down')
Unfortunately, even though I LOVE the online ADR system, each of mine for all 10 days of the upcoming trip were made on the phone..

Yeah, I think I will do that as well. I didn't think of doing that so THANKS for the tip.

I wholeheartedly agree with you!! Disney is phenomenal in every other aspect from their employees to the worlds they create, but when it comes down to online technology, they suck!
I have never had a problem calling and making any kind of reservation, whether it be for dining or a haircut. But, trying to do it online seriously tests my patience. It either can't find a reservation for the time I want (even tho when I call, I can get practically anytime I want), it won't see a reservation I've already made, or it just won't process my transaction at all.
I realize I'm not the only one trying to use the system and that's probably part of the problem. But I do expect more from Disney when it comes to recognizing this. Their system 'should' be equipped to handling that amount of traffic and even expecting it since they ARE Disney!
I have 89 days until I can make my ADRs and I will definitely be calling to make them.
oh-no. I have only 2 days until I can make my ADRs. I was planning on getting up early to make my ADRs. Do I just sleep an extra hour & call instead and risk that all of the ADRs that I want will be taken?

The EXACT same thing happened to me at the end of February, so this is obviously an ongoing issue!! (I have double checked my ADR's twice just to be sure!!)
