Beach Club = Menu Changes, Reviews, Martha's Vineyard noshes

Yacht and Beach Clubs Resorts
Yacht Club and Beach Club are two separate resorts with shared facilities. I was sent to the Yacht Club for dinner at Cape May Cafe. Some menus get things confused like Crew Cup Lounge being listed as Beach Club

Beach Club has Cape May Cafe off of the entrance and way in back is Martha's Vineyard Lounge. This requires coming off of the porch or walking around Cape May Cafe ... left, right, right, left, up the stairs or ramp on your right. At least as you turn left there are the bathrooms. Hurricane Hanna's technically belongs to Beach Club but I reported it under Ale and Compass review that covered Yacht Club. On the other side of the lobby is the Beach Club Marketplace that serves meals all day and is a grocery store. Outside past Cape May Cafe is Beaches and Cream, Beaches and Cream to Go.

Starting from right to left there are Martha's Vineyard Lounge, Beaches and Cream, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Crew Cup Lounge, Yacht Club Galley, and around the corner is Ale and Compass. It is the equivalent to a strip mall of adult watering holes, snacking, and dining.

=====================
Some menus omit places and other are out of date. Not naming names but this is for future reference for those wishing to dine at Yacht Club and Beach Club.

Beaches and Cream To Go
Some menus omit coffee, butter pecan, and orange sherbet ice cream
Price of a banana split is up 50 cents
They use Nestle hot cocoa mix not hot chocolate,

Beaches and Cream
NOTE: some of these items have been around for a while, menu is on wall and greeters will give you a menu to peruse.
up $1 is roast beef sandwich, turkey sandwich which has bacon
up 50 cents is the fudge mud slide, milky way sundae, no way jose, and banana split and strawberry shortcake
up one dallar is apple cranberry pie
kitchen sink is now $25.99

NEW
grilled vegetable sandwich for $11.99
add sauerkraut, cheese or chili to dogs for 99 cents
add bacon or grilled onions for 99 cents
onion rings for $6.49
side of fries for $3.19
tomato bisque soup for $5.49
grilled cheese sandwich with tomato bisque soup for $849
coffee ice cream flavor
caramel topping
beaches chocolate cake for $6.49 that comes with ice cream

GONE
veggie burger
chicken noodle soup
butterscotch topping

Seating: There is a counter and tables for 4 people. Larger groups can sit near the counter and have extra people sit there or split the party. These are the wrought iron armless chairs seen at various Main Street, MK restaurants. Many restaurants have adjoining booths or square tables that can accomodate large groups but here you have round tables so expect to be split up.

To Go: I explained that I am not supposed to have a large coffee shake. They gave me a "to go" cup which meant I could have left then but I finished half of my delicious coffee shake.

Service was polite and efficient. They can accomodate most allergens. They serve butter pecan, crushed almond bits, and peanut butter morsels. I do not recall seeing peanuts on sundaes but that shake had my attention.

============================================

=================
Beach Club Marketplace
breakfast is from 7 to 11 am and meals are from 11 am to 11 pm.

caesar salad.
wheat, Italian, and white bread

baby food, fun pack cereal, Nilla cookie box, Premium brand of crackers, beef jerky, sugar, instant coffee, tea bags, cooking oil, log cabin syrup, pancake mix, poptarts, Pam spray, peanutnbutter, grape jelly, canned soup, coffee filters

There is a counter that serves flatbreads, veggie wrap, chowder, soup.

=================

Martha's Vineyard Lounge
location: Beach Club
5 pm to last call at 11:15 pm and closes when last call in over
Bar Food is served 5pm to 9 pm and comes from the neighboring Cape May Cafe kitchen

Light Bites
House Made Potato chips with cheese and chorizo dip $7.49
Artisan Cheese and Fruit Plate $12.99
Blue crab dip with tortilla chips $7.49
Mussels and clams in a spicy italian broth $10.99

Seafoam coloured beadboard panels and soothing light woodwork give this a light airy feel. There are banquets with tables as well as tables for four and a small marble topped bar. Stop by and have a nosh at this relatively quiet friendly hole in the wall behind Cape May Cafe. I hear the mussels are almost a meal, I plan to stop by someday for a nosh. This is really themed to the Beach look.

================
Cape May Cafe Clambake
This is themed after the beach resorts around Cape Cod. Of course, one's beach home on Nantuckett probably would not have croquet mallets, beach chairs, and croquet balls on the walls, lol. The murals on the walls are of beach scenes of olden days.

Seating: There are long banquets with tables and chairs for us Pooh sized guests as well as typical 4 top booths. Overall the place does not seem like the warehouse that it is because of the way the place is laid out. There is plenty of room for scooters and wheelchairs. Staff is always there to help a disabled guest or harried mother carry a tray.

Service: My waitress heard that all I had to eat was fruit or that twinkie thingy by Enjoy Life. She brought me for gluten and soy free taffy then with the check brought me 3 more. NOT ONE CHEF, NOT ONE MANAGER did for me what she did for me. She refilled drinks and some say that 18% is to much tip but I gave her much more as she gave me something special, taffy,. At least she tried and cared.

FOOD: A good restaurant has plain food on hand for those with special diets. Chef Randy walked me through the line and was well knowledged. I cannot have any gluten and must avoid soy but that is ingestion sensitivity with tiny bits of soy being tolerated. I cannot do flan and dishes heavy in eggs.

There are no soy free dressings. OMG, that is shocking. I had to skip the salad and was so hungry. I did not get a discount for the failure to provide a salad, of course. Did not do dessert as they had that gluten free Twinkie and flan.

BEEF!! I got an end piece. That is the most disguting part of a slab of beef at times because of fat but it has the most flavor. I love gnawing on the ends of the roast beef for the flavor even if there is gristle or fat. This is the best beef I have had in a long time, OMG. It was magnificent and worth visiting again.
It has a really good horseradish sauce but it does not have enough kick to clean the sinuses, I prefer a sinus cleaning, tear enducing punch from horseradish sauce. OMG, they have a beet colored onion jam for the beef that was sweet and not overpowering with onion flavor, wish I had more.

Side Salads: I tried the shrimp salad that was yawn and the cucumber salad that had very little to it as far as flavor. There was pasta salad and other stuff I could not eat. Cucumbers and onion salad did not have any notes and barely could I taste any vinegar or other flavors. Cold Bay Shrimp Salad had bits of red bell pepper, onion, and cucumber. Again no real flavors, no zing of a vinaigrette but just cold chopped veggies and little bay shrimp.

Side Dishes: I would never buy corn with that many damaged rows of corn. It is not Niblets from Green Giant or fresh corn on the cob. It is edible and good if you pick through the offerings. Whipped potatoes were good and had chunks of potatoes in them to simulate homemade potatoes.

BRAISED BEEF: Very spicy which might be because this was fresh. I ripped the meat apart to taste the middle which was not too spicy so it was more of a broth problem for me. There was braised beef, potato cubes, onions, and red pepper bits. Overall this would have been my favorite dish but it was way to spicy as in give me MILK! and I do eat Mexican food. I recommend this dish but start with a tiny bit first to see if you can handle the kick of this dish. Sometimes errors happen and someone puts in too much of an ingredient.

They have lots of chicken drumsticks. The meat was firm, succulent and very tasty. Wow that is one big chicken.

They do not have gluten/soy free desserts except maybe ice cream, flan, and Enjoy Life. honey if you were at a fancy dinner with tortes, pies, apple cobbler, smores, and other goodies how would you feel if all you ate was fruit, a scoop of ice cream, and twinkies? I would love to make the head buyers try sitting through life eating dry salads and eating Twinkies while everyone else has 10 dressings and 40 desserts.

The offer Udi dinner rolls which I like but only CRT has ever had melted butter. Few places have soft butter.

CRAB: I do not eat things that look like they were when alive. SACRIFICE for you all as I tried one leg and the meat was flavorful. I loved the crab leg meat but still cannot see myself eating more. Not a fan of Cornish game hens or ripping the leg off of a dead cow on a spit, sorry, sensory or moral issue here. do not do crickets even if they are in chocolate. RECOMMENDING THE CRAB.

OVERALL
Staff goes out of its way to help guests in need. Otherwise they come by when you need drinks. Very nice staff which makes this place a pleasure to come back.
It is well worth the money. They try hard to meet special diets but need some work. I left the place full and wishing I had gone back for more beef. The beef alone is worth the price. They even have a paper on the table and crayons for us kids to draw on. This buffet has to serve a lot of people but still maintains decent or even stellar dishes. Mass producers of meals do not have to lower quality of ingredients and preparation just to serve the most people in the least amount of time and money. This place leans toward quality food over mass production. I WILL BE BACK!!!

finally done with this review
Fort Wilderness is probably next one.
Recommending Cape May Cafe and Martha's Vineyard Lounge for some great grub.
