Just got back from the world and we were disappointed with our dinner at The Rose and Crown Pub in Epcot. They no longer have a pot roast on the menu or Bangers and Mash(?, did I say that right?) The waitress told us that they changed their menu about a week ago. Here is what we had:
Cottage Pie - like a Shephard's pie, but it was just ok, whole mushrooms, not sliced and it was just too much of those!
Fish and Chips - My daughter liked it, ate the whole thing.
2 kinds of pork - My husband said it wasn't very good, and he is not a picky eater.
Basically, in the past we have been able to find something on this menu that was better than this, and we usually book it to be able to sit outside on the patio to get a great view of Illuminations. But, we decided this trip, that we won't eat here again, the view is not worth the not-so-great food.
Sorry you were disappointed. We have plans to eat there in June. Maybe we should scout out the new menu first.
Our first visit to R & C (2008), was a surprise like that for us. They had just changed the menu. I was excited to eat the vegetarian dish (curry vegetables) but it was gone. They only had one vegetarian meal and it was a Shepherd's pie that was just OK (really wanted the curry dish). Thankfully, we had a great table at the Patio and it was still a nice evening (great view of Illuminations).
I hope you still enjoyed the meal and the environment!

We ate there in January before the menu change and I was not impressed either. Not with all the other fabulous choices so nearby. This is not a restaurant we will return to. Was a nice view of the lake from the outside tables though
Now you know why I spend so much time at Raglan Road where they are Irish through and through. I can go to their take out window at Cookes and get gluten free fish and chips just like at the pub. At Rose and Crown they said that I would have to wait an hour or more at starting at 4 pm and maybe get in. The pub and take out windows have little or nothing that is gluten and soy free. I went to the take out and they had nothing to eat so I went to Raglan Road and stuffed myself with real British food.

Disneyland was fun with flag retreat and pickles. I have a home here, thank you. GAC is NOT a "front of the line pass".
She is gone but keeping signature. Laundry is getting done. My purpose in life is to help poor people in FL. Farewell, will miss you.
I have never enjoyed the food that much at Rose and Crown (if that kind if food was served up in an English pub, it wouldn't have many diners, I can tell you) and agree that the food at Raglan Road is so very much better.
That said, I think that the view of Illuminations from the terrace is one of the best and I would order the cheapest, safest main and enjoy the fireworks. Even when we haven't scored a patio seat (like always) we have been escorted to the patio for the show.
