Have you been to WDW in August before? One thing that we found was that touring in the heat left us with much smaller appetites. We pretty much decided that doing a dining plan in August did not work well for us. We often shared a couple CS meals at lunch and had our one TS meal as an early dinner before going back to touring the parks. We also do as you plan, taking the afternoons to be at the pool or in the room.

Thank you! This is our second August trip, and I agree that we do have smaller appetites in that heat. We are on Basic Dining and I am keeping us at just 2 ADRs max a day.
If you are on Basic dining, you know you'll be paying for one of the two daily ADRs out of pocket, right? Basic dining is for 1 TS, 1 CS, and 1 snack a day.

We do, thank you. There just isn't a perfect dining plan for us, Deluxe is too much and Basic not enough....grr. We plan on paying for any of the breakfasts. And we are going to get the Tables in Wonderland card to help us on that.
Great plans! We love 'Ohana!
For dinner on the 2nd Saturday, you could take the boat from BLT/Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge and eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe or get something at Roaring Forks, the quick service restaurant. Or you could also take a boat from Contemporary to Ft. Wilderness and try the Trails End Buffet. It is simple food (fried chicken, ribs, etc.), but we have always enjoyed it.

I love the boat to WL idea for Whispering Canyon; we haven't been there for a couple trips now...I think everyone would be happy to have that back on this itinerary! Thank you!
