What are the Best Counter Service Meals at MK and HS

We're doing the QSDP this year, we are staying at AoA and will only be in HS for one day and MK one day and then one night for MNSSHP. What are the best counter service meals out there and not miss snacks?

thanks!!

At MK- Cosmic Rays, has a great fixin's bar for burgers, and has chicken platters for families. Columbia Harbour House always has good food, and new on the menu is a salmon platter that I thought was very good, esp for dinner. Peco Bills has a great taco bowl with fixin's bar too.
Not to be missed snacks are Dole Whips Ice Cream Sandwiches from Main St., Roasted candied almonds, Funnel Cakes, Main St Bakery!!

DHS- I thought Backlot was decent, and Starring Rolls has great sandwiches, and the cupcakes are yummy. Not as many good (IMO) food choices for CS here, but there are a few. Fairfax is also good, Best snack credit is those cupcakes at Starring Rolls, or they come as dessert if you eat there.

MK - Hands down, the tuna sandwich at Columbia Harbour House

DHS - We always eat at Planet Pizza, but everyone else seems to think it's lousy!

At MK I would say Columbia Harbour House and Pecos Bills, I'm not a big snacker, but am planning on getting the dole whip as mentioned by Sue M.

At HS I'd say this is tough. We went to ABC commisary last time, it wasn't bad, but didn't leave a great impression on me either, but in a pinch it was a nice place to cool down, so keep that in mind if you'll be there when it's hot.

At MK we love Columbia Harbor House. Lots of good things--no burgers. Fried fish and chicken; salads; salmon platter; excellent tuna sandwich; hummus and slaw veggie sandwich. Great atmosphere. If you can do stairs, it's quieter up top. Cosmic Ray's also has great platters, some big enough to split, like the roast chicken and ribs, plus burgers and a fixings bar that is quite comprehensive. Don't miss the floor show! For snacks, we like to get a Dole Whip, something from the Main Street Bakery, a smoothie from Auntie Gravity's, or ice cream sundae from Mrs. Potts (they may have renamed this--its in Fantasyland). Sleep Hollow is worth checking out too for ice cream treats.

At DHS, we nearly always eat at Backlot Express. Lots of seating in a themed area, refillable drinks, and a good view of the Jedi School if you sit in the right area. Burgers, chicken, and a great grilled veggie sandwich. For snacks, go to Starring Rolls (early!) or Writers Stop for yummy baked treats. My husband also likes to hit the glazed nut cart on our way out of the park.

MK: Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bill's. The mexican place across from POTC is good, but rarely open

DHS: Toy Story Pizza Planet is the best of a limited selection

At MK, we've always eaten at Cosmic Ray's and never been disappointed. Snack is a Dole Whip - always!

At DHS, we ate at Rosie's. Nothing fancy. Not bad, but not great either. Just basic burgers and stuff.

Count me as another huge fan of Columbia Harbor House. On our last trip, I tried their lobster roll. I wasn't expecting much, but it was absolutely delicious! Five months later, I am still thinking about that lobster roll...

I can't really comment on DHS -- we always seem to end up at the ABC Commisary, and that is fine. It is nothing exciting though. Next time we're there, I need to make a point to try some of the places the other posters have suggested...

MK -- Columbia Harbor House (wonderful Lighthouse sandwich and nice choices outside of burgers), Dole Whip Float for snack!!

DHS -- We like ToyStory Pizza Planet (combo meal has a salad). It has always been good and hot. For snacks, we love to visit Starring Rolls (delicious baked goods and good latte).

At MK we love Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bills, plus Casey's Corner do great hot dogs. Snacks, well I love the dole whip float from Aloha Isle, Mickey bars and cupcakes from Main Street Confectionery. DHS we love Studio Catering Co, they serve a delicious buffalo chicken sandwich. For a snack, you can't beat the cupcakes from Starring Rolls, especially the Butterfinger cupcake which is the best

Funny we usually do Cosmic Rays every time we go to MK and last October it was awful! The burgers were like hockey pucks and they ran out of chicken! Needless to say we wernt too happy. This trip we were going to skip Cosmic Rays and try somewhere else so thank you to all that suggest Colombia House! Cant wait to give it a try!

at mk i love columbia harbor house! for a snack i HIGHLY recommend the strawberry shortcake sundae. i can't think of the name of the place that's it's from, but it's right next to the friar's nook (in fact it actually may be the friar's nook) in fantasyland.

at hs i love backlot express and backlot catering company.
backlot express has a wonderful santa fe chicken salad. they also have burgers and chicken. things along those lines.
backlot catering company has amazing sandwiches! i love the buffalo chicken sandwich.
as far as snacks go i love the carrot cake cookie which can be found at the writer's stop and sweet spells.

DH says Pecos Bill's for the fixin's bar

HS: We last ate at ABC Commissary--just don't get the Asian Salad. It was gross.
