TiW and prepaid meals?

DH said we could go to WDW this year! (we were going to skip this year, but now we will skip next year). Was looking at the TiW card since now I can get it as a DVC memeber, so how does it work if you have to pay in advance for a reservation at one of the dinner shows (says you can use TiW at the late show)?

Thanks!!

Tell your server at the time of the meal. When you give them the TiW card, they'll issue you a credit for the discounted amount - usually in the form of a Disney Gift Card.

That's exactly what they did for us at CRT.
