While I enjoy good cup of coffee, why did they have to put the Starbucks in the beloved Main St Bakery spot? surely there were other options? Bakery is closing in January. I was happy about a Starbucks going into wdw, but now, not so much. Guess I've had my last ice cream sandwich.

If they do things like they did at Disneyland, all the offerings will still be there.

It's just that the coffee will be Starbucks.

Aww farewell my Cinnamon Rolls that i had every morning before work Lets hope the Mousecateria have the Cinnamon rolls still:? But knowing Disney they will put something even better there.......I guess let the Magic Begin!!!

I hope that all they do is replace the coffee and maybe redesign the place, but not get rid of the bakery completely.

It's very well done in California and the treats are the same. The coffee drinkers in our family appreciated the upgrade in the coffee.

There is another thread already on this topic.

I believe its a very bad mistake on Disney's part to place it at the Main St Bakery or even at Magic Kingdom-takes away from the whole theme walt wanted.

I could live with one in Downtown, DHS, and maybe at Epcot at Ftnview icecream parlor and maybe expand one at the Contemporary resort-NEVER AT MK!!!!

I say make your protests known directly to Disney!!!

I believe the cinnamon rolls are being served in the new Fantasyland Big Top Souvenirs store, among other treats.

I just read that too and was coming over here to post. You beat me to it! I am sorry but I am highly against it!!! I can't even believe that Disney would consider it! Whats next, a Super Walmart next to the Castle?!?!??! Shame on you Disney for letting a commercialized establishment poke its ugly head into the magic place. I like Starbucks....no offence, but NOT here!

And I can't figure it out......Main Street Bakery is always packed!

I would even be agreeable to one at Downtown Disney.....but NOT Main Street!

If they just change the coffee, that's fine. But the fact that they are closing in January worries me. How long is it going to be closed? I'm not happy with this.

This is horrible!!! I can get a Starbucks on any corner and I can only get Main Street Bakery on Main St. in MK!!!!

When is the close date? Does anyone know?

Try and think of this as a rehab -- I truly don't believe you will go in there and even think it's a Starbucks. (The Disneyland restaurant that serves Starbucks serves SO much more than what a Starbucks has. There's just a little indication on the menu that it's Starbuck's coffee.)

I hope that's all it is. I agree that a "regular" Starbucks would ruin what Walt wanted. Hmmm....I'm wondering maybe this plan is in place for the Boardwalk Bakery, too. 2 weeks ago, on our last day, I made a comment to the CM at the BB about how small it is and it really should be made bigger, as the line was long and out the door. You could barely move in there. She said that they were going to be expanding it soon...
