| Sending a food package Has anyone sent a food package to their resort for snacks and quick breakfasts? I've been told that you can do this. If so, what did you pack? I plan on sending instant oatmeal, individually wrapped doughnuts, small bottles of water, coffee, Pringles(so they won't be crushed, trail mix, hot cocoa mix, a small coffee maker, peanutbutter, crackers, individual boxes of cereal, fruit rollups, etc. I'll just pick up milk at the food court at my resort hotel. I don't plan on stopping at a store because I'm using the new Magic Express to get from the airport to the hotel and I think that this is still going to be cheaper than paying for transportation and paying for their prices down there. What do you think? |

| Re: Sending a food package I know alot of people have done this. Instead, I use a service called We Go Shop . They'll go to the store and get everything for you and deliver it to your resort at a requested time. The fee is reasonable and the husband and wife, Eric and Becca that service WDW are great people.
I am sure someone else will comeby that had shipped a package and tell you how it went.
I see this is your first post -
Let me be the first to say Hello to our boards Hope to see many more posts from you!! This is a great place to spend some time!! |

| Re: Sending a food package Either you can do something like We Go Shop, or you can buy your own stuff, pack it up and ship it to the resort yourself. |

| Re: Sending a food package Thanks for the post. I'm actually in that same situation so I am anxious to hear the responses. Last year we used Tiffany's car service instead of Mears for getting to our restort from the airport, but this year, like you said, they are offering Magical Express. I think we are going to do the Wegoshop service. They have a site you can go to that has alot of information, www.wegoshop.com, I think that's right. I think the charge is only $15.00 for up to $100.00 of shopping, but someone else may be able to shed more light on this.
Welcome to the boards. I'm fairly new, but I love this place. It is a great place to get information and to meet new friends. Everyone here is sooooo nice!!
Have a great time on your trip!! |

| Re: Sending a food package Hi Sue and welcome We have never sent food to our hotel, but did so for other vacations, especially when out of the country. We sent loads of baby food and diapers at the time. Remember to pack well and to put the date of arrival on the outside of the box. You might want to call the hotel a few days in advance to have them be on the lookout for it. Also-call the hotel and ask if they have a coffee maker already-most do. That should save you some weight. DOn't forget those coffee filters! |

| Re: Sending a food package I have never shipped any food but when we went in October we used the small suitcase that came with our set and FILLED it with the same items you mentioned. We then just checked it with our suitcases of clothes and never had any problem with the airline. (we were on continental) Then we had snacks and breakfast all week but the bonus was a empty suitcase coming home. We then had a suitcase to take home all our new Mickey stuff. Or in our case Minnie! |

| Re: Sending a food package I mailed two packages to ourselves at the Beach Club, via UPS, and I was able to track the packages to make sure they got there (Sunday arrival, package arrived Friday before). I put my arrival date on there and also when I faxed my room request info, I put on there that there would be two packages arriving before our arrival and to please put them aside till we got there.
I sent breakfast bars, little creamers, sweet and low, Brita water bottles, coffee, a coffee pot, hot cocoa packs, little cereals, spoons, plastic bowls from the dollar store, zip lock baggies. They both arrived fine. However, when we checked in, we got upgraded to Concierge, and never needed any of the stuff I packed. I did take the breakfast bars into the parks on days when I knew we would not get lunch or dinner till later. It was nice to ship it back to ourselves, and since it was Halloween, I also included the costumes we had packed in our suitcases, and freed up some space for the souvenirs. |
