| Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern or Plaza Restaurant?? How is the Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch?? I'm looking into restaurants for next Summer and I want at least one sit-down restaurant in each park. For the Magic Kingdom, there really aren't many to choose from. We didn't like Crystal Palace so that's out, and Tony's is really overpriced (a really good chicken parm sandwich here in NY is nowhere near $10 ) So I'm trying to decide between lunch at the Liberty Tree Tavern or the Plaza Restaurant... which one did you guys like better??? |

| Re: Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern or Plaza Restaurant?? I have not been to LTT yet for ANY meal (will be doing the character dinner in Dec.) but we HAVE been to the Plaza . . . twice!
According to DH and DMIL, the Reuben sandwich is FANTASTIC!!! I had the Turkey Sandwich once and the Plaza Club the next time. I asked to substitute the bread . . . I don't like multi-grain bread and asked for white bread instead . . . and they did it with no questions asked!!!
My FIL also really liked the Cheese Steak!!!
Emilie was quite fond of her peanut butter, jelly and bananas sandwich as well!!! |

| Re: Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern or Plaza Restaurant?? We had dinner at LTT last year during MNSSHP. The food was delicious, but I think it would be a rather heavy meal for lunch. It's served family style - turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad, mac and cheese, bread and butter, and some other stuff. Did I mention it was really good? I would do this for a dinner rather than a lunch myself. |

| Re: Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern or Plaza Restaurant?? DH and I had lunch at LTT in August and it was wonderful. I had the Colony Salad, it had rotisserie chicken, apples, pecans and smoked cheddar cheese, DH had the roast beef dinner. They were both delicious and we would definitely eat there again. This was not served family style, just a small table for the two of us and our meals were brought out on a plate, just like a regular sit-down restaurant. It was yummy!

| Re: Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern or Plaza Restaurant?? We really like the Plaza for a sit down lunch. The sandwiches are excellent and the salad with chicken and strawberries is divine. It reminds me of an old fashion ice cream parlor....by the way....the ice cream is wonderful. |

| Re: Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern or Plaza Restaurant?? I have eaten lunch at both these restaurants and enjoyed both of them enormously. However, I do prefer Liberty Tree Tavern as they have a wider variety of foods to choose from.

The family style meal that is served at the character dinner is not available at lunchtime. Instead there is a menu of a la carte items from which you can choose. Now, if you are in the mood for an "ice cream lunch," then the Plaza is the place to go. Their ice cream concoctions are incredible.
As for the prices, I don't think you'll find that either Liberty Tree or Plaza is any cheaper for lunch than Tony's (which just happens to be my favorite sit-down restaurant in the MK).

We love The Plaza. Huge sandwiches that can easily be split between two adults. Great potato salad! Terrific ice cream floats.

I know it's not much cheaper, but it's different food. $10 for a chicken parm sandwich is crazy, here in NY they have the BEST pizzarias that have chicken parm for WAY cheaper, and I'm sure they're better It's just that I don't think we'll like the sauce... we had pizza in Florida and wow... it wasn't so good
Thanks for all the tips! I'm still not sute which one to go with. I want to do them both, but we only have 2 days at the Magic Kingdom, and one day I want to have a big lunch at Cosmic Ray's and then have dessert in the Castle I still have to look over the menus again and see what we want to do! |

We have reservations for the character dinner there on the 14th of October (I just made them last night - can't believe the luck!). Is it the same meal at dinner as at lunch? It sounds like it's one memorable meal!!!
Thanks! |

| Re: Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern or Plaza Restaurant?? no, dinner a thanksgiving feast with turkey and all the trimmings. As stated above.
I have always wanted to try the colony salad there but with breakfast at the cp, we usually have no room for a sit down lunch. |

| Re: Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern or Plaza Restaurant?? Thanksgiving a month early! I'm loving this idea! The next morning we are going to a Mary Poppins breakfast at the Grand Floridian!
We'll be doing WDW after coming off a Disney cruise. I should hold a contest to guess how much weight I'm going to gain! YIKES! |
