February Attendence? PS Needed?

Hello everyone!

I was hoping for advice. I will be at Disney in early February, and I was wondering about the need for priority seating during that time. I have been during the down time in September, and the park was DEAD! There was no need for any reservations then! I was wondering if anyone has been in early February and could give me a gauge on how busy the restaurants will be?

I was hoping to dine at:
Breakfast - O'Hana, 1900 Park Fare, Boma
Lunch - Whispering Canyon Cafe, Yacht Club Galley
Dinner - Boma, California Grill, Spoodles

Do you think I'll need advance reservations for these choices?

Thanks!

Re: February Attendence? PS Needed?

I would make a PS at any place that I really want to eat at. You picked some great places and they are really popular, so if it were me, I would make a PS.

Re: February Attendence? PS Needed?

I would make them just to make sure you've got a spot wherever you'd like to eat. There are quite a few places that are quite popular and even if the attendance may be lower, those places tend to fill up anyways. I'd just take the safe road and make some ADR's anyways!!!

We went this past (early) March and would have been able to walk in (with a short wait) for a table at most places, but it was nice to have the ADR's so we would have NO wait. That said though, we were not able to get Cinderella's Royal Table AT ALL the whole time because they were completely booked, and it was HARD to switch our ADR at Le Cellier, but we managed to slip in to another spot for dinner, but it was quite late!

Re: February Attendence? PS Needed?

Our last trip was early March for 4 days w/ no PS for anything and we ate whatever we wanted whenever. We didn't make any because we werne't sure what we wanted and didn't want to be tied to a schedule. If you aren't sure what time you'll want to eat and/or want to leave your schedule open, you don't really need them. For example, we've been to Boma several times and never needed one, Breakfast or Dinner. The only thing is you may have to wait a bit for a table, but in Feb that is probably not even an issue.

I would make ADR's but that's because I like to plan and planning the dining is as much fun as any other part of the trip.

Re: February Attendence? PS Needed?

DD's birthday is the first week of February so we've been down at WDW for three years straight. ADRs needed? Definitely for anything popular! The cheerleaders/their families are there and it can get busy at times in restaurants such as Ohana, Park Faire. We CRT and an adr is a must for it.

Remember, if you make adrs and decide not to go - you can cancel it the same day.

Early February is a great time to go - have fun!

Re: February Attendence? PS Needed?

I would definately have an ADR for:
'Ohana
1900 Park
California Grill

The others, you could probably just call that morning or walk up, but I would still try to get there either early or late. Don't go at prime dining time or even though you will get in, you might have to wait awile to be seated without an ADR.

When we were there last Feb it was a madhouse and I was glad we had ADRs for everything. They were turning people away at Boma and Crystal Palace.

I just won't go anymore without ADRs if I plan on eating table service.

Re: February Attendence? PS Needed?

Last year we were there in early Feb. here is what we did--
made Ps's for our "must do's" before our trip (Le Cellier, Rose and Crown, Tony's for my birthday lunch, etc.)
During our trip we would call from the cell phone and make PS's a couple hours in advance - for other meals (Plaza, Marakesh) we got into both of these shortly before their closings, and I'm not sure that would have happened if we would have walked up.
We also did one PS for our last morning, that we added a couple of days in advance - for the 'Ohana breakfast - but timing was important as we had to catch our ride to the airport - so we wanted to make sure we got in.(we needed that PS, they were turning people away).

We've had much better luck using the cell phone to get a seating rather than just walking up. (If you don't carry a cell phone, guest services at the parks and resorts can help you out as well.) It also saves us some time so we don't head somewhere to find out we can't get in.

Although, this last trip we did have the dining plan, and were very glad we had done all of our TS ADRs as they were mostly full.

enjoy!

Re: February Attendence? PS Needed?

We were there 1/28-2/5/05 and I was glad we made ADR's for Boma, 1900 & CP. We saw people being turned away at 1900 and CP if they didn't have ADR's. And the wait for Boma was two hours w/o an ADR. These were all for dinner.

We did however make quite a few lunch same day ADR's in the parks and had no problem. SciFi and LTT are two I remember we had no problem getting.

If there is someplace special you want or a place that is popular, make the ADR!
