Sci-Fi Restaurant We will be in MGM on my son's 12th birthday. Would the Sci-Fi Restaurant be a fun place to celebrate his birthday or could someone else recommend another MGM restaurant suitable for this occasion? Thanks.

Re: Sci-Fi Restaurant Sci-Fi is a lot of fun. I think it would be a great place to celebrate a birthday. Just to add an option, you might also consider the Prime-Time Cafe. You'll probably get more interaction with the wait staff there, where they treat you like family! (Usually it's your mom or dad that is waiting on you, and she'll make sure you keep your elbows off the table, and you can bet there will be a special birthday treat for your DS! The Sci-Fi and the Prime-Time are the two restaurants we ALWAYS make PS's for, because they are so unique and lots of fun.

Re: Sci-Fi Restaurant The only problem with a family meal at Sci-Fi, is that the seating is in "cars" with two seats per row and all facing the same direction. Almost impossible to hold conversation with each other. I personally wouldn't choose it for a special birthday meal unless it was just the two of you. Have you considered doing dinner after you leave MGM? If you do this, you could eat at one of the resort restaurants....Boma or O'hanas might be fun choices. -HiddenMickey

Re: Sci-Fi Restaurant Sci-Fi is cool, but one thing to keep in mind. If memory serves me correctly, the tables at Sci-Fi might be a little difficult for all to share in the birthday celebration. The table we had was set-up as a car, 2 people in the "front seat" and 2 in the "back seat" both seats facing forward to watch the movie screen. If there are more than two of you, this may not be an ideal situation if you all want to interact with each other. 50's Prime Time Cafe has a great set-up, with loads of fun with the wait staff interacting as mom, aunt, etc. And if there is a celebration, the waitstaff does a great job in celebrating. Hope this helps!

Re: Sci-Fi Restaurant The Sci-Fi has a few regular tables (so you can actually face your dining companions) in addition to the car set-up. Just request a regular table when you check in!
