If you could only do one character meal....

what would it be????

We are going to be at WDW Feb 11-15th and are thinking of only doing one character meal because we don't want to overplan anything this time. We have done CRT and Chef Mickey's so those are not on our must do list this time. I was thinking Crystal Palace, but would love to hear any other suggestions.

Sarah....I was thinking along the same lines as you. We've also done CRT and Chef Mickey's, as well as 1900 Park Fair when it was Peter Pan and friends. Next on my list is Crystal Palace as well...especially since it's been renovated recently. -HiddenMickey

We really enjoyed 1900 Park Fare. The restaurant is lovely, the food was delicious and the characters (we had Mary Poppins, Mad Hatter...) were great!

Re: If you could only do one character meal....

I love Crystal Palace but I have to admit I am a bit biased as my favorite character is there. But I also LOVED the character interaction at Hollywood and Vine. It was probably the best I've had(maybe aside from my most favorite breakfast ever at the Crystal Palace one trip). Minnie and Goofy were great and came to see us many times and spent plenty of time with us. We were all adults too.

Minnie just loved my Dad and his shall we say nicely, fuzz head(doesn't really have a lot of hair left).

The food was pretty good too.

We had a great time at LLT. DD did not have a great reaction to Ariel at her grotto, so I was concerned about LTT. Much to my delight, she loved it. We are going back there again this trip. (21 days, but whose counting) BTW, the food at LTT is good too!

Re: If you could only do one character meal....

Up until this past trip I would have said the Donald one in AK, but food was not upto par this past 1/1/03. Maybe it was the holiday. Character interactions were as good. It's worth it to see the donald! We thought that 1900 PF breakfast had tremendous food and very good character interactions..Mad Hatter, Belle, Pooh, Tigger and Mary Poppins. Also love the Liberty Tree Tavern Turkey and fixins dinner with the Colonial Characters at MK.

Re: If you could only do one character meal....

TIP!

If you book the latest seating at a Character meal, there are way less people which equals some great interaction....we did this at LTT and pluto was ours for an hour or so...he kept sneaking up to our table and sniffing our chairs....FANTASTIC! Minnie would come over and yell at him and goofy would back the dog causing minnie to be distressed and our whole family to be amused...there was only one other family seated in our section!!

I think if you book at an off time...you are going to have a better than average experience!

MENU IS SERVED FAMILY STYLE AND THE CHARCTERS ARE GREAT AS WELL AS THE RESTURANT IS TOTALLY COOL BECAUSE OF THE ROTATION THRU THE DIFFERENT SCENES OF "LIVING WITH THE LAND".

Re: If you could only do one character meal....

For an even better deal, you could try the ice cream social at The Land or Garden Grill (can't remember which one) has this at 3 p.m. and 3:30 daily. It is under $10/person. You get an ice cream dessert that is very good. No one was there when we went (during spring break to boot!). We had the characters, dressed in their straw hats and farm gear, all to ourselves. Check our wdwig.com and look for the ice cream social. It is an inexpensive way to meet with the characters. Happy planning!

Re: If you could only do one character meal....

I have to vote for Liberty Tree Tavern also. The food is great and the character interaction is wonderful. We got to see everyone twice. My kids were thrilled.
We also love Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare and Crystal Palace.

Re: If you could only do one character meal....

We love Crystal Palace and this trip we tried Chef Mickey's for the first time and 1900 Park Fare and both were excellent. I'd recommend all of them.

I also enjoyed the Liberty Tree Tavern, but DH didn't seem too keen. Neither of us were too keen on Donald's Breakfasaurus (spelling?, as we didn't think much of the food there. The Cape May Cafe was fun for breakfast, but I wouldn't rank it as one of the best character meals we've had.

Hope this helps!

Re: If you could only do one character meal....

Chef Mickey's had the best food and interaction with the Characters and the hotel is really fun to look around! After breakfast you are at the Magic Kingdom in 10 minutes and you get a ride on the monorail. It is the whole package that is fantastic!
