| It is a yeast bread filled with a custard and topped with shredded coconut. We asked one of the CMs why it's called "school bread" and here's what she told us: In Norway, the older kids/teens are allowed to go out for lunch and rather than eat something healthy, they much prefer this treat. It's a horrible punishment to be kept in from lunch b/c then you have to eat "regular school food" and don't get your school bread! It's also a big thing to get one on the way home from school, so if you have enough pocket money, you can eat it twice in one day!

| I think it's more of a "bread" than a "pastry" and is therefore drier -- more like a dinner roll than a sticky bun. The custard was lighter than the custards you'd find in a Boston creme donut and not nearly as sweet. It was more like vanilla pudding and went very well with the mild flavor of the coconut. Eileen
