Post Photo package for all princess story book dining in Epcot starting april 27

Okay, So I just read in the all ears newsletter that all ressies for April 27 and beyond at the princess story book dining in epcot include a photo package. Has anyone heard if this will increase the table service credit cost on the DDP? I know CRT is 2 TS's and they have a photo package, so does this mean it will be 2 TS's for this or keep it at 1 TS. If it increased, I may have to rethink my ressies for my May trip.
That is doesn't!

Here are the new "AKERSHUS with the non-optional photo package" rates I recieved in an email from a very dear friend who keeps up on all things Disney. Bear in mind, though, it's not official until you hear it from Disney:

Breakfast: $28.99 ages 10 and older; $12.99 ages 3-9
Lunch: $30.99 ages 10 and older; $13.99 ages 3-9
Dinner: $35.99 ages 10 and older; $14.99 ages 3-9

Holiday Pricing will be:

Breakfast: $32.99 ages 10 and older; $14.99 ages 3-9
Lunch: $34.99 ages 10 and older; $15.99 ages 3-9
Dinner: $39.99 ages 10 and older; $16.99 ages 3-9

Price includes non-specialty, non-alcoholic drinks (sodas, coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade, punch, milk). Tax and gratuity are NOT included.

All in all I don't think it's that huge of a rate hike if it does include a photo package, and no doubt a little more 'Princess Time" along with it while posing for the photo. It is roughly a $6 increase per person adult, and still about $6 less than Cinderella's royal table. I think they have struck a middle ground here. This princess meal was quite the bargain I thought. Although I hate to see prices increase just as much as anyone, I think I can live with this. We are still scheduling a meal here for our late August trip.

I do wonder which Princess will be in the picture??

I just booked an ADR for this the other day for in July and the CM stated that it would be 1TS - of corse this was just a few days before the "rumor" on All Ears - I would hope that if they changed it to a 2TS they would contact the ppl???

I have mixed feelings about this. Yes, the experience of this meal was definitely well worth the price but I don't like the idea that the photo package is mandatory. I have 4 girls who will eat there but to get their pictures done with the princesses is probably not something they are looking forward to. Also, it seems that DW is really cashing in on the photo options at the parks. The photopass is more than enough for us and spending and extra amount at a meal for more pictures seems redundant. For us 4 of the 5 of us are adults so that raises the price appx $25, something to consider.

Like I said, the quality there is exceptional and that is indisputable, my only argument here is I wish the price from the photo package was not reflected in everyones tab since some people really enjoy the experience but can do without the pics.

Just my humble opinion!

Another thought, can you put the pics on the photo pass CD?

We purchased this photo package last month during our breakfast visit and we were easily able to add it to our photopass. There is a code on the 8x10 that we entered in like a photopass number and they are all there w/ the rest we had taken!

Thanks for the update - that's useful to know that it can be added to your Photopass package.

it 'always' could be added to photopass. any of the dining photo packages that you purchase can. from Disney's PhotoPass :

Quote:
Guests who dine at Cinderella's Royal Table and/or Princess Storybook (starting April 27, 2008) or purchase a photo package at another of the dining locations where a photo package is offered are in for an additional treat – those photos can be added to Disney's PhotoPass and subsequently treated like any other Disney's PhotoPass photo. The main photo will have a Disney's PhotoPass ID number (should start with EVNT) and the guest can now claim those photos either at a Disney's PhotoPass service location or on their disneyphotopass.com account as if it were another Disney's PhotoPass card.

Dining locations that offer photo packages are as follows:

* Cinderella's Royal Table (Included in cost of dining)
* Princess Storybook (Including in cost of dining as of April 27, 2008)
* Donald's Safari Breakfast
* Chef Mickey's
* Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show
* 'Ohana
* Mickey's Backyard Barbecue
* Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue

NEW! It's been reported that beginning April 27, 2008, the photo package at Princess Storybook at Akershus in Norway at Epcot will be included in the cost of dining as it is with Cinderella's Royal Table.

Cinderella's Royal Table even has its own special Disney's PhotoPass borders available:

I hope it stays at 1TS. We're already doing HDD for 2 credits. We can't afford (in more ways than one) to do 2 2TS credit meals.

I do just have a question (merely speculation though). I noticed that dinner at Chef Mickey's is now 29.99. As far as I know, that's still 1 credit, so that being the case, why would Akershus go up to 2 credits with the addition of the pictures? It's still cheaper with a photo package than CM.

Could they be including the package at CM as well. We got the package the last two times we had gone, (And will the next time too) but as someone already stated, not everyone wants it.

The Princess Storybook meals are still going to remain 1 table service credit. Perhaps they'll look into changing it next year, although I hope not. It's nice to have at least one breakfast/lunch option for dining with princesses that's not going to burn up your table service credits!
