Hoop Dee Doo, DDP and categories

OK, I'm confused.

We originally booked the Hoop Dee Doo for Wed 4/23, with a Category 3 on the deluxe DDP. When we learned that that might possibly be a Pirates and Princess party, and after we got decent airfare and were able to extend our trip by a night, we cancelled that and got a new ADR for Friday 4/25 in Category 2.

Yesterday morning, I noticed that they had billed my credit card, which they were not supposed to do, for the Friday night show. I called and told them that I had told them I'm on the deluxe DDP, and that I was not supposed to be charged. She agreed, indicated that it was not entered correctly. So she had to cancel that and then rebook, when she did she gave me a Category 1. Now my understanding is that you cannot use the DDP for Category 1, and she had said something like that normally you can not, but that it was being made available. But frankly what she said did not register at the time, and it was not until I was checking the Passporter, that I remembered that DDP is Cat 2 or 3 only for Hoop Dee Doo.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. I want to go, and clearly would love to have the Cat 1 table, but I'm not sure that when we get there in April and go to pick up our tickets they are not going to give us a problem.

If I call now, I could lose out on what is essentially an upgrade, which they may have done since they messed it up.

What would you do?

When we went in Nov/Dec, there were occassional seats at Cat 1 with DDP, depending on the day of the week and time of show. As long as your credit card isn't charged, I wouldn't worry. You'll love the show!!

Thanks that helps.

We have done this show many times and always enjoy it, which is why I don't want to have it get messed up because of a silly snafu. Category 2 or 3 is better then not being able to see it. Of course Category 1 is a stroke of luck that I had not really been counting on.

The credit has not shown up yet, but then neither has a new charge. I'll give it a few days and check the card again.

This particulary cards, online site is not quick to show pending charges.

What time are you eating? I ask because I've read different places that at the 9:30PM show you can sit in any tier seating and the DDP will pay for it.

We have the 9:30pm seating.

This our last night. We go to the Hoop De Doo, then head off to the airport Hampton Inn to sleep, since we have a 6am flight on Sunday Morning. We wanted late night so that we could enjoy the parks until the end. MK closes at 7pm that night.

I wouldn't bother calling then. It even states in the DDP brochure (I checked and put a link for you) that the 9:30 seating is included. So there is no mistake, and even if there is, it's in your favor. By going Tier 1, it adds even more value (IMO) to using the DDP as those seats are something like 60 each.

Good luck and enjoy!

Cinder Abby, thanks for noticing that! I had looked at the PDF, but missed that the 9:30 show did allow for Category 1.

Dave and Jennifer, I got confused because on Page 236, it says that DDP is only for Category 2 and 3, without listing the exception for the 9:30 show. You may want to make a note of that in your updates page!

Thanks again.
