How often do ADR get cancelled??

Hi,

We leave for WDW next Wednesday and aside from 3 character meals, I didn't make any other reservations (time just got away from me and now we are 4 days from leaving!) I tried calling tonight for our son's birthday, but haven't come up with anything. We are totally flexible with times and parks, we just want something for him. They said keep calling back because people could cancel...but what are the chances? We also were specifically looking for dinner- do you think I'll have better luck with lunch reservations?

Thanks! Fingers crossed we come up with something!

Hi and welcome!

People do cancel, so there is always hope! The more flexibility you have, the better your chances of getting something!

I would keep checking everyday even while you are in WDW. Call in the morning and see if anything is available. We had to cancel an ADR just last week while we were down in disney.

Yes, people often cancel and sometimes at the last minute . So keep checking even after you arrive. And yes, I also think you would have better luck with lunch times also.

Thanks for your insight!! I usually am a much better planner but totally dropped the ball on this one (honestly, I was just thinking that this is supposed to be an off-peak time so we shouldn't have problems and just kept putting it off!)

I'll keep trying everyday! Hope we can get in to Coral Reef at some point!

I think lunches may be a bit easier, but isn't this free dining time???? It may be tough to get anything in at all....

I just snagged a ressie for Jiko last week! About 3 weeks out from our trip. I called daily...sometimes twice daily. I just cancelled 3 reservations that night as well. One was for Boma (it was supposed to have been cancelled by a CM weeks ago), one was for Raglan Road (Jiko replaced it), and I had 2 ressies for dinner for our arrival night, until we could be sure of the specific time of a show, then we cancelled the one we didn't need.
Sooooo....keep trying.....hopefully something will open up!

Keep 407-WDW-DINE in your cell phone and call it several times a day to check.

Also, Guest Services at each park will have information on the restaurants that have availability. It's worth a stop at GS to know your options at that park.

Good luck -- I hope you find something great!

You'll find something. People are always cancelling reservations. Like everyone says keep trying. I've had the dining reservation number in my cell phone for almost a year now.

Hi there and welcome.

I, as a matter of fact, am cancelling dinner reservations one day on our trip as something else has come up. So , people DO cancel!

I was going to mention that I keep the dining number in my cell, usually if we need to cancel, but it would also help in making an ADR. And we had a friend who checked upon first entering the park with Guest Services to see what was available and got lucky a few summers back.
