Grapefruit Cake

Is there any way or place to get Grapefruit Cake at DHS without eating at Brown Derby? Can I walk up to the reception desk and order a slice to go? Has anyone done this?

I thought I was okay not doing a TS meal at DHS -- then the dessert thread started and..... A girl has to have her priorities!

I'm interested to see the responses you get-I have wondered the same thing only about getting the Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower also from the Brown Derby.

It seems to be available at Starring Rolls, a CS. The service is slow, but they have tasty pastries, bagels, sandwiches and coffee. Limited outdoor seating, but we love the delicious tarts they serve.

Plus, you can actually just go to BD for dessert and coffee; lots of people go to sit-down places for dessert only. That's not a meal, right?

I've heard you cannot get a slice to go, but going to sit down just for dessert/coffee sounds really nice.

I know that at one time, you could get it at Starring Rolls Bakery (and it was a little cheaper than at the BD), but it isn't listed on their menu (AllEars updated end of September).

Has anyone seen first hand if it was available there recently?

Unfortunately, we have a really short day at DHS. So I was hoping to get a slice somewhere to go.

Do try Starring Rolls just in case they have some as you can definitely get it "to go" there. And if you miss it entirely, this recipe link was posted on The Mouse for Less list:
Grapefruit Cake from Hollywood Studios’ Brown Derby | TheDailyDisney.com from OrlandoSentinel.com
