Updated ADR's not happy

WH & I are butting heads on ADR making.. I want to book at least 2TS a day while he is content with the way this is.. I feel with the deluxe dining this is best but we crunched the numbers & we are getting our moneys worth with what we have booked already. We compromised & agreed that we would add some more TS once the boys band itinerary is released. Here's what we've got so far.. I have highlighted where I need some opinions

Please note we LOVE Disney buffets .. for the simple fact that WE dictate when we leave ( & the food is ALWAYS good IOHO)

3/25 arrival day

Lunch at QS either resort or MK.. I ADORE Columbia harbor house hummus sandwich so I'm thinking we might go there

3/26 Friday- day the band arrives
Chef Mickey breakfast @ 8:15
QS lunch somewhere- depending on where the band is
Cape May Cafe dinner 6:05pm

It is an Epcot evening EMH so I figure we will walk over after dinner & take advantage

3/27 Saturday - MGM early EMH
I would like to have a TS breakfast booked here but we're not sure where we want to go I thought to go to Hollywood & vine for breakfast or someplace earlier as we don't have dinner until VERY late. SUGGESTIONS???

Le Cellier - @ 7:45pm

3/28 Sunday. the day the band marches which is an Epcot EMH but I think we'll skip that as we have breakfast ADR's
1900 Park Fare @ 8:05 am. WE love their dinner & have never been for breakfast so I figured why not & we can hop on the monorail & be at MK .

QS lunch somewhere in MK..

Dinner @ Crystal Palace @5:50pm.. after this we'll probably leave to rest up @ our resort & go to Evening EMH at MK until 2am.

3/29 Monday morning EMH @ MGM.. If we go to EMH on Saturday we'll probably skip this & head to a water park today..

I'd love to have a TS breakfast scheduled SUGGESTIONS??? or do I eat breaskfast @ resort & have a TS lunch somewhere??

We have WCC @ 7:15pm

Tuesday 3/31 MK early EMH & we will take advantge of this to ride those rides we might not have gotten on on Sunday evening
We have Crystal Palace for breakfast @ 8:15am
& nothing else scheduled today... it is Epcot late EMH so WH would like to book an Epcot TS.. but I'm leaning towards my FAVE restaruant.. Boma.. any thoughts???

We 3/31 day we leave (BOO!!!) I want to take an 8pm flight out so if we have any credits left we were thinking of booking a goodbye breakfast or lunch.. any suggestions? We're not going to be at any special park today.. It is Ak early EMH so we'll probably be there but we can't do Boma as we'll be cutting it too close for our plane so we thought of Tusker House.. for those that have been there before ( we haven't) it sounds a lot like Boma.. is it?? or do I leave it to QS all day to take advantage of the last day.

Okay.. how does this sound??

I did the Tusker House breakfast, and it is excellent. Nice variety, plus characters!! Maybe look into that for your last day if it's AK early EMH.

My 2 cents is Tusker House is somewhat like Boma in terms of African flavors, carved meets, etc. We really enjoyed the selections and everyone in our party last trip (even the grandparents) thought the food was very tasty!

If you want to do a TS breakfast near DHS, you could always do Cape May Cafe (although I see you're having dinner there one night). There's also Captain's Grille at the YC, which is also good (but no characters)!

I'd go for Cape May as well for the Studios day - and how about Teppan Edo for your Epcot night? By the way, if you enjoy Boma, you'll love Tusker House. It's great.

We loved Tusker House, but we've never done Boma, so I can't comment as to comparisons. I would think the Hollywood and Vine breakfast would be fine.

As for whether to do Boma or something new...look at the menus with WH and see. I would lean towards trying something new like Teppan Edo or Tutto Italia.

... I will say this much: do you really want your entire day's schedule to revolve around being at X restaurant by Y time, two to three times a day?

In January, we averaged two ADRs per day, for three adults. And, for next trip, I have already been told (since I'm the one that did all the planning): "never again." In fact, I'm under strict orders to keep Dinner and Lunch ADRs to a bare minimum period, just to avoid the "have to get to our ADR now, no more time for rides and shows, hustle hustle hustle" feeling.

I honestly believe, now, that two ADRs in the same day, for so MANY days, was a huge mistake. Sometimes it felt like we spent more time watching the clock so as not to miss an ADR, than we spent just enjoying Disney.

I think your ideas sound great. I agree with other posters that you could do Cape May for breakfast on your DHS morning. And I LOOOOOOOOOOOVED Tusker House's breakfast when I ate there. I definitely think you should book there on your last morning.

I'm like you, I like to have at least 2 TS meals per day when I'm at Disney. I'm at the point now that I've gone so many times to WDW that the rides and shows are second to the food, lol! This past trip, I only had three TS meals for a five day trip and I really wasn't happy with that plan. Next time I'll go back to my 2 ADR's per day.

Reading your ADR's makes me hungry all over again - and I just ate lunch!!

And question - what does "WH" stand for?

I also have to suggest Cape May for breakfast. I know you have it for dinner, but of course, breakfast is a much different menu and one of our favorites.

If you enjoy Boma, you will enjoy Tusker House. We did Tusker House for the first time this past June and really liked it. While it was somewhat like Boma, it was different enough that we didn't regret doing both on the same trip. Boma is still our favorite of the two, but when time does not allow for a trip to the AKL, Tusker House is a good second choice.

On the night you want to go to Boma, or stay in Epcot for dinner, have you considered the Yatchsman Steakhouse or Flying Fish Cafe? I know both are two TS credits, but it sounds like you have some to play with. Plus, both are a nice walk from Epcot's back door.

After several trips of going commando with the ADRs, and causing meltdowns within the family, I was also told by my DH to lay off the table services. One a day was enough for us. I was a bit concerned to try his free spirited style of touring when it came to meals, but after trying a few trips of playing it by ear, (which meant more CS meals) I had to admit that we ALL were a much happier group. I learned it was best for us to get our one TS meal out of the way at breakfast or lunch, and that left the afternoons and evenings open for whatever we wanted to do.

I totally understand about wanting to get your money's worth out of the Deluxe DDP, as I would be the same way. (I dream of being able to do this plan just one trip, even if it is a short one ) As long as you have the cost of the plan covered with what you have booked, I wouldn't worry about booking additional TS meals. You could always book them, but if the family is not up for another ADR that day, just call and cancel it.

Happy planning.

For a water park you can go a number of places and a buffet could be good if it will keep you full for the day. There is Ohana, Chef Mickey's(but I hear they are slightly overated), Cape May or Captain's Grille then take a bus over to the water park for the day after breakfast. Another place that looks great is Kona Cafe.

Some places for Epcot could be Teppan Edo, Tokyo or take the monorail to the Poly and try Ohana for dinner.

Yak and yeti for lunch if you are at AK or Donald's safari breakfast then grab dinner at the airport.

Not sure if that helps but I looked over every menu on allears to get an idea of what looks the most satisfying food wise.
