| App on DDP I have read in the past that the regular DDP no longer includes appetizers however looking on the Disney website under "2010 Dining Plan" it does in fact say that appetizers are included in your TS...can anyone confirm this? Going in January 2010 ...TIA! |

| If you read the Dining Plan carefully, it specifically states under Table Service eals Each Table Service Meal includes one (1) single serving: FOR LUNCH/DINNER *Appetizer (Guest ages 3-9 only) *Entree *Dessert *Non-alcoholic beverage That to me reads that appetizers are only available on the CHILDREN'S dining plan, NOT the Adults.

| And when they say a child gets an appetizer, it usually means something like grapes or applesauce or whatever is given along with their pre-plated meal. Eileen

| DW wrote a letter to Disney about this. We offered the idea of an app OR a dessert with an adult meal. We recieved a call back from a CM who told us that she has already had many such requests and that it has been passed up for further consideratin. Now that does not mean much, but if, let say 10,000+ ppl called/wrote/emailed maybe just maybe it will become an option.

| The only thing that I think keeps them from making the option is that the "drop" of the appetizer speeds up their turnover (the time it takes them to move one table of guests through their meal so they can seat another set of guests.) If they have one guest who makes the switch while the other guest(s) have the dessert that comes with the DDP, then they suddenly have that extra course to deal with, throwing off their timing. When they first added the DDP, I remember reading from CMs that the speed that they could now turnover the restaurant meant they actually got an extra round of guests in, significantly increasing their profits for that night. (Now, that's sort of "hearsay" and not my possession of hard data, but it's worth noting anyway.) Eileen

| I, too, miss the appetizer but I don't think it will come back to the basic plan. Not only can Disney turn tables over more quickly, getting an app. with your meal is one of the selling points of the deluxe dining plan.

| Actually I disagree with this theory. My DH has been in the restaurant business for almost 40 years. He knows first hand about this, and we've discussed this issue. An appetizer takes up the time while you are waiting for your dinner to be served. If you order a dessert, you will tend to linger longer because most people tend to eat dessert slowly since they are full from dinner. When we were on the DDP last year, we only ordered dessert because it came with the meal. We would much rather have had an appetizer such as a salad.

| I think the issue with the appetizer is that some of the appetizers cost upwards of $15 so the range in the price of the appetizers go from $8 to $15 whereas the average cost of the desserts is in the range of $5 - $8.

| I was just checking out some of the menu's for our upcoming trip and DH is interested in picking from the Chef's Favorites where you pick an app, entree and dessert at Le Celier. We are using the regular dining plan... will he be able to choose that option as his meal ? Thanks in advance |
