Re: where to eat? Hi & welcome to the boards! ![]() That's a very tough question to answer as everyone has their favorites. What appeals to one person can differ greatly to another. My suggestion is to check out the menus from AllEarsNet.com. There you can see the many different places, the types of food and cost. Once you find some you're interested it, we'd be glad to offer our opinions for you! But since you've already asked, here are some of my favorites! ![]() Character Meal: Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary or Pooh & Friends at Crystal Palace. Fine Dining: Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge Great Lunch: Le Cellier in Canada at EPCOT Best Burgers: Beaches & Cream at Yacht/Beach Club Quick bites: Casey's, Peco's Bill, Columbia Harbour House (all at MK). This should get you started!

Re: where to eat? We like 50's Prime time in MGM, Beaches and Cream, 1900 Park Fare, and Cosmic Rays. Maybe this year I will be able to try Yachtsman Steakhouse, last year it got cancelled due to sick son, the year before we cancelled for we were having too much of a good time to stop what we were doing to go!

Re: where to eat? So many restaurants, so little time Our family favorites are 1) San Angel Inn at Epcot (love the tacky boat ride by the volcano), 2) Rose and Crown Pub at Epcot (crowded but great fish and chips, 3) Sci-Fi dinner at MGM, 4)Mama Melrose at MGM (blessed AC when it is hot and the pizza is devine), 5) Ohanas at Polynesian Resort. Places I didn't care about: 1) Biergarten at Epcot, 2) Resturant Akerhus at Epcot, 3) 50's Prime Time [we had to wait a loooong time, I was grouchy with hungry kids, the dinner was OK, and the waiter was not so good - so, it is probably wonderful and it was a bad hair day for me] Also, about anyplace in the Magic Kingdom (although my daughter loved her lunch or dinner with Cinderella). Places I REALLY want to try but had to cancel (sick child) or something reason: 1) France - Bistro de Paris or France - Les Chefs de France at Epcot, 2) Italy - L'Originale Alfredo di Roma, 3) Coral Reef (Epcot), and 4) Teppanyaki Dining Room (Epcot).

Re: where to eat? So many restaurants, so little time There are so many wonderful places! Everyone has to go to Beaches and Cream!! And we try to make a point of going to Wolfgang Puck Express every trip at Downtown Disney as well. Boma is a family favorite as well.

Re: where to eat? So many restaurants, so little time You have come 7 times from the UK? Yow, that a lot! I forgot that Gloria Estafen's Bongo Cafe was a disappointment. Perhaps I had built it up in my mind too much. I will down at Disneyworld in July of '05. I hope all of my favorite restaurants are still open!

[/ QUOTE ] It is indeed, but the nine hour flight is worth it for what's waiting at the end - Disney! If only we lived closer, we could visit more often. It'll be eight trips by the end of the year and a ninth trip (and possibly a tenth) is planned across the pond for 2006. |

Re: where to eat? So many restaurants, so little time Hi! ![]() I second the idea of checking the menus online to get an idea of what to expect. We try to eat at a different place each meal. We might have Casey's Corner twice, but other than that we try to eat at a variety of places. The restaurants and their theming are another part of the magic! My favorites-- Character Meal: Liberty Tree Tavern at MK. We also really enjoyed Garden Grill. For breakfast we have done the Storybook breakfast at Norway--very good. Fine Dining: Haven't done too much of this, but we loved Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. Great Lunch: Tusker House at Animal Kingdom is my hands-down favorite. Tangeriene Cafe at Epcot is great too. Best Burgers: Pinocchio's Village Haus in Magic Kingdom was good, as was the Electric Umbrella at Epcot. I haven't found a huge difference in counter service burger and chicken strips places. They all seem the same to me, but are all pretty good. Quick bites: Mickey Bars, muffins or coffee cake at any bakery (especially Fountainview in Epcot), pretzels, popcorn. My mom is really wanting a crepe in France this year, and dad wants a turkey leg. I want to try a sweet pretzel in Norway. We love Casey's Corner in the Magic Kingdom--best hot dogs on earth! Trails End at Fort Wilderness is another good choice for breakfast or dinner.
