Free Dining Plan I am confused (easy, to confuse me I know). I guess its because when you say FREE, I get confused. LOL. Since the Free Dining Plan has been extended, I have these few questions. When I put in my tentative dates for staying at the park (withing the free dining period), and I added one day of park tickets (I think I read that to get the FDP, you had to buy at least one ticket), the FDP, doesn't come up as FREE. What am I doing wrong???? Also, am I to understand that if in the 4 days that we are there we charge more than the dinner plan would have cost ($80 or something a day)that it is FREE. So, we don't have to watch the cost of the entrees in the regular restaurants. Or do we get charged for overages. Sorry that I am not explaining myself right. I guess that what I am trying to ask is if FREE is FREE, GRATIS.... no charge, or if you have to pay for the difference between the vouchers and the price of the food. Of course I am not including the Signature Restaurants. Can you tell I don't hear the word FREE often. I forgot what it means since people interpret it in different ways. LOL. Thanks, Maria

Re: Free Dining Plan first, the dining plan is usually NOT free - you have to pay $35/per night/per adult and $10/per night/per child. the number of nights is not negotiable (it's equal to the length of your hotel stay) and the number of people on the plan is not negotiable (it's however many people are in your party over the age of 3). that said, the free dining plan is the plan at no cost to you. you do not pay overages, you have no minimums, no maximums. you do not pay anything out of pocket if you are on the plan. you are limited only in the restaurants that accept the dining plan and this does not exclude disney signature restaurants (or dinner shows) either - you can use the dining plan there, but they require 2 credits per person as opposed to the standard 1 credit. in any case, i would either book online and then call dtc to have them add it, or just call them directly and book it. as long as your vacation starts between 8/21 and 10/4, you'll be eligible

Re: Free Dining Plan First of all, what dates are you plugging in? It must be between Aug. 21 and Oct. 4, 2005 to get the dining plan for free. Also, depending on what hotel and view you are choosing the dining plan might not be an option. For instance, I couldn't get it for a woodsview room at the WL but I was able to get it for a courtyard view. Free does mean free. You get 1 Table Service, 1 Counter Service and 1 Snack per person per day. The Table Service includes 1 appetizer, 1 entree, 1 dessert and 1 non-alcoholic beverage per person on the dining plan. You can order anything on the menu...even the filet mignon! You must pay extra for anything over that. For instance, an alcoholic drink or an extra side or appetizer. Go to this website and it should help you to understand the dining plan better: http://www.mousesavers.com/mywplusdining.html.

Re: Free Dining Plan Thanks... I will see if buy plugging in another hotel it will bring it up. I am plugging Sept 29 - Oct 2. That would be 3 nights and 4 days. So I am figuring I would have extra coupons, since we would be arriving in the afternoon and departing in the morning. It's for a long weekend. So, I guess that to get the FDP I don't have to buy park tix? I have park tix already from previous trip. Thanks for all the help, Maria

Re: Free Dining Plan yes, you will need to purchase a ticket (it can be 1 day base if you wish). you have to book a full vacation (minimum 3 nights) which includes tickets (which must be purchased for everyone in the group). for 3 nights, you will get a total of 3 table service, 3 counter service and 3 snack credits for each member in your group. you can use these any way you wish. any unused credits will be lost.

Re: Free Dining Plan When you go to www.disneyworld.com, look down for the boxed "ad" for the free dining deal. You have to use that link to get the package to show up with free dining.

Re: Free Dining Plan Also - it has to be a package deal - that means that everyone on the reservation qualifies for the dining - but also that everyone must purchase the SAME MYW ticket. Package deals require a higher deposit, and must be paid in full 45 days before arrival.
