Boma or Jiko? I'm meeting friends at AKL for dinner in early March. We won't be going to any parks, I'm leaving for a Carnival cruise the next day but I wanted to squeeze in a little bit of Disney magic! Should I meet them at Jiko or Boma and why? I've read the menus for both and both seem great but I'm having trouble deciding.

Re: Boma or Jiko? We prefer Boma, mainly because of the wonderful choices that they've got there - with Jiko you have to choose just one appetiser, main course and dessert, while at Boma, you can sample as much as your stomach can handle!

Re: Boma or Jiko? I would probably say Jiko, just because we really didn't think Boma was anything special That was for breakfast, though, so dinner might be different.

Re: Boma or Jiko? BOMA has a louder atmosphere becasue of the buffet, but they have something for eveyone from appetizers to deserts. JIKO is more quiet and does not have the buffet but the food is excellent. My Dad is a picky eater so Boma was better for him because of the all you can eat prime rib and plain roasted chicken. I liked Boma better because I like to try lots of different dishes. If I were meeting people I would like to go to Boma. CATEY

Re: Boma or Jiko? We enjoyed Boma, but I'd love to try Jiko so that's what I would pick. Plus, I love good wine and I understand they have the best selection of South African wines at Jiko.

Re: Boma or Jiko? [ QUOTE ] I would pick Boma just for the selection, it was really good food and a big variety! The desserts were outstanding!!! [/ QUOTE ] Either way you can't go wrong...I just like having a wide choice of dishes to sample.

Re: Boma or Jiko? We've only been to Boma so I can only recommend that. Jiko's menu does look yummy too. I guess it would come down to wether or not the friends you are meeting have children. If they do I would vote Boma because of the variety, if not probably Jiko if you want quiet conversation. You could always opt for the California Grille on to of the Contemporary and get even more Disney magic as you watch Wishes from the restaurant! It's my personal favorite at Disney.

Re: Boma or Jiko? I have only been to Jiko - haven't been able to convince John or the girls to go to Boma - they aren't big buffet lovers - but we LOVE Jiko! It's even my picky eater husband's favorite restaurant in WDW - even over Le Cellier! That said - I do feel like I should at least give Boma a try. Maybe Sarah and I should try it this trip!

Re: Boma or Jiko? I've been to both--I prefer Jiko. The food is a step up, the service was superb, and the venue was gorgeous (I also had better wine). That said, if you have picky eaters in your party, then they may be more easily accommodated at Boma; however, all WDW restaurants typically have some standard dishes. They have a wonderful steak dish with a side of macaroni and cheese! I will probably cause a storm, but I think the desserts are better at Jiko also. A couple of us ordered different things and shared the first time I went. I don't think you will go wrong with either. Just pick one and enjoy.
