Driving from Philly Area (hotel reccomendation for halfway)
Anyone who has done this drive from Philadelphia area to WDW--- any good hotel recommendations for overnight stop? We'll probably start driving 7am from Philadelphia (on a Saturday). Thanks!!
South of the Border area? It's been a while since I've been in that area, and I know it's a "tourist trap", but there's a bit there to keep the kids busy and lots of lodging in the area.

I hear ya! Oh-- we used to have fun staying there as a kid!!! It wasn't a trip to Disney without a stop at South of the Border (plus all of the signs)--- we stayed there once, but made sure to at least stop each time. I just talked to my dad, and he told me to avoid it now(he's also over-protective with me and the boys though, I think it comes with being a Philly police officer for 35 years). Thanks though!!!! I used to love South of the Border--- they had cool little rides there!
I actually think we're gonna stay (like Rob said) in Florence, SC on the way home. But I think on the way down-- we're gonna try to get into Georgia (maybe Savannah area) or maybe even cross into Florida, so we only have 5-6 hour drive the second day (I want to do the Candlelight Processional Package that day, since it's the final day for it).

Dina, we stayed overnight once in Brunswick, GA at a Days Inn that wasn't too bad. There's one or two interchanges in Georgia that have a cluster of accomodations right by the interstate.
Your drive from the GA/FLA border to WDW should take around 4 hours.
(psssssssssstttttt....... We drove straight through from Philly to WDW last August.... Left at 5am, and checked in at All-Star (after calling from the road to check for availability) at 9pm..... and we even stopped for late lunch/early dinner and got stuck in an absolute hard-to-see-20-feet-in-front-of-you-while-driving downpour for 20 minutes.......not that I'm trying to persuade you into driving all the way or anything )
We always stop in Santee, SC. Not a lot of lodging options, but we've got family in the area, so we toughed it out. It is a beautiful place to stop. I love the general/fishing bait/post office/convenience store in town. We bought minnows to feed to the gators (tourists ) on the golf course back at DH's aunt's house while we picked up a loaf of bread, postcards, stamps, and some candy bars.
