I have a question about directions from Wilsonville AL (Shelby County)to Orlando...When I look up direction on map quest or expedia I get directions taking me down HWY 280 all the way into Georgia until finally reaching I-75....When I ask people about the way the go to Orlando from my area they say they take Hwy 231 to Dothan AL then I-10 to I-75...
My question is has anyone ever traveled the HWY 280 route??? It looks to be a shorter distance so I wonder why everyone goes the other way....Any information would be most appreciated....
hey finally found the 280 route - before then it was I65 to I85 to US231 - then to I10 to I75.
most of the 280 route is non-interstate - so maybe the gas prices are starting to show up on-line maps.
take the new directions with a big grain of salt - there are traffic lights along most of his non-interstate connections - and he doesn't seem to count them.
also remember you go the posted mph when you aren't on the interstate and those are generally less than the 70 mph you are allowed on interstate.
