Packing the suitcase....it's been awhile

The last time I flew, was to Playa del Carmen 5 years ago. How do you pack things that might spill/leak in your suitcase? I plan to put as much as we can in the carry-on but I will need to pack shaving cream and juice boxes in my luggage. I planned to pack them in bags and then inside Tupperware like containers I bought years ago specifically for traveling (and I use them at home for other things in the meantime). I was thinking of getting a few plastic containers from the $ store as well.

I would really try using a food saver type machine. Vacuum seals it and then it's waterproof as well. Saves space in your luggage vs. tupperware.

We usually put things like that in sealed bags, then perhaps put them in a plastic carrier bag as well, as another precaution. You can also wrap them in clothes and put them in the middle of your case, so that they shouldn't get bumped around too much during transit.

We use ziploc baggies. I've also seen travel size shaving cream at Walmart. You'll find soap and shampoo/conditioner, and sometimes lotion at your resort, so no need to pack those.

Happy packing!

I read (a review) that the shampoo at the Values resorts (we're at AoA) is generally very poor quality. However, knowing that they have conditioner is helpful in case I run out of shaving cream. Thanks!

We use ziplock bags and then put inside of extra shoes for some added protection.

I double bag them using ziploc bags. It uses up much less space than putting them in tupperware.

I had a spray sunscreen leak and it didn't get on anything because of the double bagging.

I also put all undergarments in gallon ziploc bags. Something in my luggage tends to get flagged (I think it's the mylanta I normally bring) and I don't want the TSA to be pawing through my bras and panties.

I use ziploc baggies. And they also make larger ziploc bags that I use to separate clothes - bras, panties and socks in one, DD's clothes in one or two of the larger ones and then my clothes in one or two of the larger ones.

Maybe I will double bag them. If it leaks, we'll just have to do some laundry.

No, value resort have the 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner. No separate conditioner. But I wouldn't agree that they are low quality. All Disney resorts carry the H2O line of toiletries. H2O is very nice.
The Value and Moderate resorts get the 2 in 1 shampoo, bath soap and facial soap. The mods may get the lotion too, I can't remember.
The deluxe resorts get the separate shampoo & conditioner, soaps, lotion, and bath/shower gel.

That's helpful, thanks! I sent away for tons of free samples of shampoo, etc.. They generally come in those flat package things, so lots of them fit in my carry-on w/o going over the limit.

If I run out of shampoo, I am glad to know the quality is not awful at the resort (as I read in a review). I can't find travel sized children's bodywash/shampoo. I think I will just need to pack it in the luggage.
