Something I have always wondered about Magical Express
I know that to get your checked bags delivered to your room from Disney's Magical Express your flight needs to land at Orlando International Airport before 10:00 PM and you need to have attached the yellow luggage tags. However what happens if your flight is delayed and won't be landing until after 10:00 PM, plus you had already checked your bags with the yellow tags. Does Magical Express make exceptions for flight delays or do you have no choice to wait until the next morning to get your checked bags?
On a trip last year our flight was delayed by almost 3 hours, putting us landing almost midnight. We had checked our bags for magical express with the yellow tags, but since it was after 10 we went to the baggage claim to pick them up because that is what magical express said to do when I called them seeing our flight was delayed. Some with the yellow tags were on the belt, but ours wasn't, so we just stepped over to the luggage office there and told them about it, and they radioed to make sure they put them on the carosel thingy for us. I guess it could be hit or miss depending on how delayed you are, but they can always retrieve them for you there.
Hope that helps, I know it was a wee bit confusing for us.

If your flight arrives after 10 pm, delayed or not, plan on going to baggage pick-up to claim your own bags. If they do pull them you will not get them until the next morning. Chances are they will not pull them for you and your bags will be on the belt.

My son and I had one trip where we were delayed due to a huge stow storm and we didn't arrive in MCO until after 1 a.m, almost 2 a.m. Since it was just the 2 of us and we had a change of clothes in our carry-on, we skipped the luggage and headed for DME. We didn't even get to the hotel and into our room until 3. YUCK.... Well, they were banging on our door by 8 with our luggage. Now that's a wake up call...
The normal procedure with DME (actually, the DME contractor, BAGS) is to have a separate luggage wagon standing next to the plane as they unload the luggage. The regular baggage handlers load the yellow-tagged bags onto that wagon (instead of the regular one) as soon as they come off the plane. So... after 10:00pm, everything ought to go on the regular wagon and ought to go to the carousel with the rest of the bags. Presumably, if the BAGS facility is already closed when the wagon is delivered, they'll know to take it over to the appropriate carousel loading area.

I had no idea that's what they are supposed to do, so I just learned something new.
