has anyone used florida towncar service?

I used a towncar last year for the first time, and I guess I picked the wrong company because it was a bad experience. Florida town car has a special rate so I want to use them, but i'm skeptical because of some reviews. I was going to get someone else to match it, but they wouldn't. I realize most of the towncar companys have a bad review here or there, but i'd like this time to be a good experience..lol.

I haven't used them, but had good service using Tiffany Town Cars for several years...last time was probably 2010.

Thanks for your reply! I did call them and they did sound great, but wouldn't match the price. They were $20 higher then florida towncar with the special. I'll probably just give florida town car a try though.

Hi,

There are over 200 companies offering similar services here in Orlando. All major most reputable ones have, in average, similar rates. The cliche' "you always get what you paid for" fits perfectly to our industry. In a market with so many companies you can imagine we all lower our rates to the limit, but when you see a few going even lower, below a profit margin, how do you imagine they keep their vehicles safe and renewed, their drivers happy with a good salary, etc.

If you had said they were $5.00 or $10.00 cheaper I wouldn't have intruded in this thread; but when a member says they have a $20.00 lower rate I couldn't resist. With that low of a rate I can't imagine how they can survive much longer other than cutting down on salaries and most alarmingly to the upkeep of their vehicles.

My best regards,

Gregory Nicolas.

I understand your concern, because Tiffanys tried telling me about the same thing when I tried getting a price match. I don't see the special rate advertised. I saw it in the book birnbaums official guide to wdw. It says they give you this rate if you mention you saw it in the book. I'm not getting a grocery stop, so if you factor that in it comes to about a $10 savings over others. Last year murray hill matched it, but it wasn't a good service.

We used to use Florida Town Car Service a number of years ago. The last trip to the airport we had with them, the driver had been smoking in the car and so the whole car smelled of smoke. He also missed the off ramp to the airport and we had to go to the next ramp, make a detour and double back to get to the airport. Luckily, we always leave extra time for getting to the airport. After that experience, we decided we weren't that happy with their service and all our trips since we have used Quicksilver and will be using them again when we go in December. We wouldn't use any other car service now. Last August on our return trip, Hurricane Irene had just gone up the coast and tons of flights had been cancelled. Our driver offered to wait at the airport for us if we needed to check our flight to make sure it hadn't been cancelled. Luckily it wasn't. Sometimes saving $20 just isn't worth it.

We've used Tiffany Town Car about 3 times in our trips. We had good service each and every time.

We always used Tiffany, but the drivers were not as good as before, we had totally different drivers and shutting off the air conditioners at the store stop was really upsetting it was so HOT in Aug. Even though we are in and out before the alloted time with the kids in the veh. it was not wise to do. Son in law complained and the driver did turn the veh. back on but he really should not have done it with small children in the car. I know they are trying to conserve fuel but not when small children are inside. The driving was not the best either and they were late with one of the cars on pick up. So I will probably give Quicksilver a go next trip even if it cost more.
