Hi everyone, we are getting ready for our long drive to Disney World and I am trying to figure out how much I will need for tolls and where would be a good place to stop and spend the night. I was thinking a stopping somewhere in Georgia and finishing the rest of the drive to Disney world the next day. So everyone will be refreshed and ready to go. Is there a web site that shows hotels along the route? This is our first time driving down from PA and any advise would be greatly appreciated.
We stayed at a Comfort Inn in Poole, GA, right off of 95 and I believe it was another 4-4 1/2 hours to WDW the next morning. There was plenty of fast food in the immediate area. We were too tired to venture over but we were told that Savannah was just a short ride away.

......where are you starting out from in PA?
......reason I ask is that if you are in south-east PA...(Philly area) and will pick up I-95 right-away...then you'll have tolls in Delaware, Maryland up to Baltimore...and then nothing after that...all the way to WDW. Delaware tolls on the Del. Tpke are $4.00...and the Ft. McHenry Tunnel toll is $3.00....so you're looking at $7.00 all told...south-bound. (northbound in Md...a $6.00 toll is collected between Baltimore and the Del state line)
....if you are in central PA...and have to work your way to I-95 (using I-81 or I-83)...then you may miss the Delaware / Md. tolls...but have Pa. tolls if you use the Pa Tpke.
(I of course...need to add a $6.05 toll for the NJ Tpke...because in NJ....you can't breath without paying a toll)!!
....we drive as far south as Georgia (Brunswick) the first day....stop at a Hampton Inn there...and then have a 3 to 3.5 hr drive the next morning. It's nice to get to WDW before 11am...then the whole day is ahead of us.

Definitely look at the Drive I-95 website and I would also consider getting the book. It has exit info all the way from Maine through Florida: hotels, eateries, gas stations, places of interest and more. The maps are helpful in planning stops and it is fun to read about what happened in history along the way, plus you may find some reasons to stop just for fun. www.driveI95.com
We drive from D.C. area and being older folks who don't do well at night, we stop at Santee, SC at the Hampton Inn (Exit 98). There are many hotels at that exit as well as places to eat. www.santeetourism.com If you prefer to wing it, the various state welcome centers--usually open until 5:00pm--have coupon booklets and will often call for you to get a reservation for the night.
At the moment, there are no tolls on I-95 from Virginia south (there are on the Maryland portion). Virginia is talking about reinstating them, but that is at least a year off. You won't need to pay tolls on I-4 in Florida either.

If you are coming from Western PA --taking the I-79, US 19, I 77 to I-26 to 95-I think it's about $2-$2.50(as of November at least) on the West Virginia Turnpike portion of I-77. We take I-376 (formerly known as PA-60) which helps us skirt around most of the Pittsburgh traffic and it adds an additional $2.50 in tolls. There are also some toll roads in Orlando near the end of the trip. Portions of Fl-417 are toll right outside of WDW. There were a couple of exits that required exact change as well--Also a PA fastpass will not work in FL.
Between the other posts, I think we have almost all the PA-FL routes covered. DD and I stayed at a nice Holiday Inn Express in Walterboro, GA right off 95 about 25 miles after you get on 95 in South Carolina.
